More dominos to fall?

Okay, I had to leave for a while and I missed the fireworks.  I agree that the Sox don't like Willie.  But they do like Timo.  Sorry, but that sort of judgement I'll always question.  They've been wrong before, they'll be wrong again.

The response to this is usually, 'Well, that's their opinion and just b/c fans don't agree won't change anything.'  Yeah, of course, but if we only posted when we thought we would change something, this site wouldn't need a server -- a 3.5 in floppy would hold the posts.  And they'd all be about green seats.  That's really missing the point.

But if someone states that Willie has attitude problems as if it's fact, I want to hear some evidence.  Right now the reason to trade Willie is that the Sox don't like him, and the Sox don't like him because they have a reason...some reason.  Oh.

Actually, I'm optimistic about Willie, so I wouldn't mind seeing him traded.  I think he deserves a better chance than he'll get here.  Plus, Ozzie'll then get another opportunity to talk s*** about someone, so it'll make everyone happy.

Some are more fans of the individual players vs. the team, maybe that's you, I don't know.

Your last statement is a little off the wall, IMO. "Everyone" will be happy if Ozzie gets an opporunity to talk s*** about someone? I think not.

You won't get any factual evidence that Harris has attitudinal, umm, problems. Not to your satisfaction anyway I would guess. The closest to factual evidence is they've signed Iguchi.

My guess is he rubs people the wrong way and thinks his you know what doesn't stink. Too bad he doesn't have the production to back it up. I mentioned on another thread about reading on WSI where some guy saw Harris yakking on his cell phone while signing autographs during his session. Now, maybe this and maybe that, but to me that's a little clueless. Send it to voice mail. You're there for 250 autographs and mingle with the fans.

But that's just me ... and I guess that's just one example.

I don't appreciate the first statement. I'm a Sox fan, so that means I can't be a fan of certain players too? That's pure stupidity, just stfu. I think Harris has talent, and no matter what he does it'll never be used here. As a baseball fan, I find that disappointing. So sorry you can't understand that.

My whole point was that there's no evidence that he's a problem. I'm told, nope, but he still is. That's bs, don't throw around your "guess" as if it were fact. My own "guess" is that Ozzie just overreacted to some missed bunts. But I don't know that, so I don't act like it's got any value.

As for Ozzie, I don't see how that's off the wall. There's more than enough evidence that he loves to hear himself speak about how much other people suck -- whether it's about Showalter, the umps, or Carlos Lee.

WOW. Are you a little testy, or WHAT? First beck, now me.

By the way, don't EVER tell me to STFU, I'll give it right back to you, ten times over.

I understand completely. You like Harris, good for you. I have repeatedly said I have nothing against him, but I have seen some things I don't like and it "appears" Sox management agrees. Sorry if you can't get all the hard and fast proof you want.

On Ozzie ... you take it as fact that he loves to hear himself speak about how guys suck? Yet you won't take it as fact that Harris has attitudinal issues?

Must be nice to pick and choose like that. And don't throw YOUR "guess" around like it's fact.

Understand clearly enough?

Difference being of course, I've heard and read what Ozzie's said about each of those 3. Haven't heard any quotes of Willie's yet.

You took a shot at me, saying I'm not a true fan. That's BULLs***, and I don't for a second regret telling you to shut up.

No, I did NOT take a shot at you. YOU read into it.

Did you ever CONSIDER asking me if I took a shot at you? Instead of just knee jerk reacting and telling me to shut the f*** up?

The only shot I took at you was AFTER you told me to STFU.

This is twice now you've gotten all bent out of shape, taking things the wrong way and getting in people's faces.

Maybe consider chilling out?

And to repeat ... do NOT tell me to STFU, that's not something I take lightly.

Don't believe that for one second. Saying I'm not really a Sox fan, rather a fan of the players -- as if I'd be happier next year if Maggs is a triple crown candidate and the Sox finished 2nd again -- for anyone on this board, that's taking a shot at them.

I'm done with this, but I don't buy this crap for a second. You're full of s***.

Just to break up this ugliness, I agree with the general premise that Harris has talent. Jiminez thrived for the Reds & I think Harris could thrive on another team as well. It might come as a surprise to some of you but Harris ranked higher than the Twins 2B Rivas in win share. So he's got talent it's just not good enough for the Sox. Or better put it's just not better than Pods & Iguchi.

His biggest weakness is against LHP. He did not show that in the ml's so I don't think it can't be overcome. This is why if KW does trade him & does not got a quality UIF or a quality pen guy in return he's undersold him.

I do not think the Sox are in any rush to trade Harris. It will probably happen after or duing ST when other teams see what they have. That still gives Harris a chance to show he can hit LHP which would give his trade value a boost. The sox might even try him at SS. I think he's remain with the Sox for another month at least. The only exception being a guy like Beane makes the Sox an offer they can't refuse.

As for Magglio he has a snowball's chance in hell of winning the triple crown. Not just this year but any year. He's good. He's not great.

I'll take the high road on this one, you've done a good enough job demonstrating your immaturity and knee jerk reactionary personality. Nice try slamming the door on your way out, maybe that works at home, but not here. The only "crap" here is coming from you.

Lighten up ... a lot.

Maybe Willie should give SS or 3B a try if he wants to secure himself a spot on the roster. He played good defense and made some outstanding plays at second, so he might be able to make the adjustment. I'm no expert on the difficulty on swithing infield positions, but Arod was able to make a similar transition last year. Willie can be a graet player and showed good improvment last year, so getting rid of him would be a big mistake I think, especially since Iguchi is still very unproven.

Again... less than 200 ABs vs. lefties in his ML career, and was known as hitting lefties just as well as righties in his minor league scouting report.

Being able to hit lefties doesn't just leave you, which is why I believe many on this board are a little quick to say that he can't hit lefties, yet are judging him on what, 150 ABs?

I agree that Willie can overcome his lack of success against lefties. Based on his minor league career that and his SB problems should be temporary issues. However, this talk of Willie at 3B or SS doesn't make sense. He doesn't have the arm to play either position.

Listening to you Willie haters, I've concluded one thing - Uribe is going to be the tiredest ballplayer ever. He will be playing ss, 3b and 2b. He is the starter and everyone's backup. How does that work ?

We need 2 infield backups. They keep Harris. They know he can play second if Iguchi goes down. But first, Iguchi has to beat him out. Why is everyone so sure that will happen? Noone has seen the guy play. He's had 2 good seasons at 30 years old. What if Harris has improved from last year and Iguchi doesn't perform all that well in spring ?

Then, we need a backup ss / 3b. A veteran would be nice but who's left ?

If we get rid of Willie, we still need 2 backups. Who do you want - Ozuna and Valdez ? That's a joke. It's questionable whether Valdez is even a big league player.

Agree, i don't know how many times he was bouncing the ball in the dirt from second base. I do know that it was alot though. But his range more than makes up for it in my opinion.

But ben davis, who has had 1512 at-bats in the major leagues and has shown nothing that he is good enough to be a starter we should not give up on. :rolly

Kennedy is hurt to start the yr. Don't know how long he'll be out

Adam Kennedy underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ACL yesterday and is expected to need 6-10 months to recover.

The Angels probably won't have a good idea until the spring when Kennedy will be ready to play. It's possible he could miss the first half of the year.

I agree that Valdez and Ozuna together on the team is not the best idea.

You're not factoring in one thing though ... if the Sox bring in a veteran who plays SS and can start a fair amount, it frees Uribe up to play the other positions.

I think we will find out soon either way.

Interesting on the Reds website announcing the signing of Rich Aurilia he said he had a couple of offers from AL teams to compete for at bats and serve in more of a utility role. Now of course no one can prove the White Sox were one of the teams making an offer, but it seems to fit. Aurilia is that profile type of guy, namely someone who can push Uribe and start a few times weekly if needed.

I think the Sox need a guy like that.
