Here's to Soxtalk.com

A couple years ago when I joined the board, I wasn't expecting much because I thought the Old Roman was just screwing with me that there was such a place.

There was such a place.

Such a place did exist.

I knew it had potential but I didn't know it could turn into an entire community, and it built off of it. The site itself was shouted out by a White Sox exec on ESPN Radio 1000, there are minor league posters who bring an interesting side to the site, and the average joes add their two cents in for some quality posts.

There are many posters that add real good insight in my opinion, including Rex Hudler, YASNY, JimH, quickman, steff, and many others, just to name a few, and these are smart posters full of integrity and passion.

The White Sox passion was shown today when we beat both the Score AND ESPN Radio 1000 to Iguchi signing among rotoworld, espn.com and whitesox.com, which is real amazing.

We set new records for the site constantly, and this shows how dedicated some people are to the board, so I'd like to give a shoutout and thanks to Mario, Jason, Tex, FlaSoxJimm, Murcie, Heads, Kap, among others.

I just found it amazing today, and throughout the off-season that the site has grown lots, and I know we haven't reached our peak yet.

Here's to Soxtalk! :cheers

I just found it interesting that we just registered member #1919.

The whole thread was to capture that we as a sox community share the same faith about baseball among other things, and that everyones done one hell of a job at this site and its amazing what a few people can do for the boards.

Heck I think 1919 members in 2 1/2 years says a lot about that.

Incorrect.

Soxtalk has 1919 registered members. Close to 100 people have been banned. If you look at some of the newer posters' member numbers, they are above 2000.

Spod=ratings' member # is 2006. ;)

At least I think I know what I'm talking about. :D

The member numbers are incorrect anyhow, as mine is like 112 and I was one of the first 40 or so registered.

I know somehow the numbers were screwed up when the site first opened, because I asked Jas about it.

And you also need to figure in people who have registered multiple names and have never posted on them.

If you look through the member pages there are TONS of members that have 0 posts, maybe cleaning some of those accounts out will help save space?

if someone comes back with one of those screennames and finds they can't use it they could always register that name again...good idea

I found it interesting that you posted a lot of names and didn't include mine...

In all seriousness, good post but lay off the ass kissing for a while, would ya?

In all seriousness, thanks for your praise, and your immaturity about me supposedly "ass kissing" to soxtalk.com is kind of childish, don't you think, Aboz?

Not particularly, but thanks for your two cents.

Depends on your definition of member #1919...

The reason the newer members are over 2000, is because we had a registration glitch for a while, and people registered upto 10+ names while not realizing that they were doing so. Most of those were deleted, while still having those member numbers held. In reality, there are only 1919 names held on Soxtalk, including the banned numbers.
