TLAK
QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Now that we got Iguchi who does the Sox knock off the 40 man roster This is such a good question, I felt it deserved it's own thread. Rogowski? Reynoso? Davis? Who can they get through waivers?
Gene Honda Civic
Iguchi takes #7 and the Sox current #7 hits the bricks.

Jabroni
There are a few guys from the 40-man roster that could be designated for assignment to make room for Iguchi... Pedro Lopez Paulino Reynoso Matt Smith Sean Tracey I doubt anyone would claim these guys.

Gene Honda Civic
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 24, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) Leave Timo alone, he's here and you love him You have to admit, .262/.343/.323, cheap w/ good defense at 2B looks better than .246/.285/.338, $1M w/ poor range and a plus arm in the outfield. One is almost universally loathed, and looks to be done with this team, the other is a beloved mascot of ineptitude.
Jabroni
Green?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lopez is the only guy I would worry about designating for assignment.

Pedro Lopez Paulino Reynoso Matt Smith Sean Tracey I doubt anyone would claim these guys. You're kidding, right? Sean Tracey is (considered by some around here) our second best pitching prospect behind B-Mac. Reynoso is a good call, but isn't Lopez an alright IF prospect? Kalapse
I bet it will be Reynoso.

Tracey is one heck of a prospect, Lopez is a decent mi spect, you're right on Reynoso though.

Lopez will get picked up by someone and tracey most definitely will. So they are not options.

He has only had one really good year so far. Some team would claim him, easy. Tracey has some nasty stuff, just a little wild... GM's love 'stuff', they see Tracey, he'd be gone. SoxAce
They will not dump Tracey, Lopez (one of my fav. spects) and Smith is very solid.
Jabroni
I bet it will be Borchard! Hmmm, should that be in green?
Gene Honda Civic
This actually is a good question, and I think it may be WH. Last time this Q was asked with AJ's signing, I absolutely thought it was Reynoso. But after reading some things here and something from a Q&A with Merkin on MLB.com(I think) -- It sounds like 1) the Sox are really high on him and 2) they feel that he would be picked up by somebody. TLAK
You could also open up a spot by trading some one from the 40 for a prospect.

YASNY
Neither the White Sox camp nor Richard Moss, Iguchi's agent, could comment on the signing. The news will not become official until later in the week, pending Iguchi passing a physical. KW will have a little time to either make a deal or make the decision. I'm thinking a Harris trade may be in the works.
