IlliniKrush
You're wrong. ANY season is better than a canceled season at this point. There is no guarantee whatsoever they'll have it worked out for September. This will go into next year as well is my guess.
kapkomet
Sorry to jump back into the fray so late. #1) The season is over. I've talked to my two main sources, one of them is VERY close to the negotiation process. Today was it. You heard it here first "officially" although that's what's out in the media, so whatever. #2) Extra revenue - for you business people out there, I liken growing your revenues in the NHL to growing your revenues by going out and buying a sucky business. When you take $100 and divide it by 5, you earn $20 per team, and if you divide $120 by 10 you get $12 per team, but "oh oh oh my revenues grew by $20". That's the math that Gary Bettman expects everyone to believe when we hear about how much revenue growth happened, but in reality, the pie got cut into more pieces and didn't grow at the rate that it was expected. #3) The NHL markets TERRIBLY. Why doesn't anyone except the hardcore fan give a s*** about this? It's because the market scheme put together by Bettman, et al sucks. #4) All I know is this sucks, because I do business with some NHL people and it hurts me pretty bad. Just ask arena workers and concession people that make half (those who share with basketball) or none of what they made last year because these assholes, every one of them, are being so f***ing greedy. SnB
For someone like me, that has never really gotten into the NHL but will watch a game if its on and especially the playoffs........this just gives even more reason to not care.
