Gene Honda Civic
you should post -- There's been far too many "what nickname should we give...." and "OMG Oprah is a Sox fan" threads lately... it would be nice to get back to some substance. santo=dorf
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) Why did you use green? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because these projections for next year are really stupid. (ZiPS, and other s***.) I also saw a new way to "calculate" patience by a hitter. (OBP)-(BA.) :rolly Give me a break. The games are not played on paper. Gene Honda Civic
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 27, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) I also saw a new way to "calculate" patience by a hitter. (OBP)-(BA.) :rolly That's not exactly cutting edge stuff right there.... But it is very useful OBP Crede Uribe 2002 .311 .286 2003 .308 .297 2004 .299 .327 Both players have a nice trend going here. So we can assume that Crede must be getting worse at taking walks, and Uribe is getting better right? WRONG ISO Crede Uribe 2002 .026 .046 2003 .047 .043 2004 .060 .044 Uribe has been walking at almost exactly the same rate, his rising OBP was directly tied to his rising BA. Meanwhile, Crede has been walking more often, yet, his OBP has fallen because his BA has been falling.
