:fthecubs  :sosasucks You suck...

It's one or the other

You can't rout for both!

I think a lot of casual fans can and do like both. I liked both when I was a kid. It's not as hard to imagine if you are far enough outside of the city. I rooted for Fisk and Sandberg. As these casual fans come to the Cell, can we try not to make them feel like idiots for not knowing everything. I think the cubs are not quite as loveable anymore and more of these casual fans will make it to the Cell to see the new blood Sox. The more that happens, the more that will see the light. I don't like the cubs for reasons I'm sure that a lot of us share, so please don't hurl poo poo at me.

I don't care...

As a die hard Sox fan, it just pisses me off to see people rout for both teams. In the crosstown series, you must pick one... Most who rout for both teams usually go scrubbies... and of course once the sox go good, here comes the bandwagoners!!!

Gotta agree with him on that one. Even though theres some people who just want to see Chicago on the board u still have to pick one or the other when the time comes. It pissed me off to see people root for the scrubs during their postseason run when they were going to sox games with me during the reg. season... Here its all :fthecubs :headbang :headbang

Back to the original topic...

His numbers were very impressive last year, especially since he wasn't a full-time player the whole year (only 140 games, and he platooned early in the year). If he keeps this up I think there is a solid chance he makes it, although he has an uphill climb because of his lack of name recognition. Hopefully he will get some love from the players and managers.

There is no reason in the world why some can't root for both teams.  If you choose not to, fine.  But to lambaste an new poster because you are filled with misguided arrogance is moronic.

First part of your comment, I disagree with you 100%. You have to spend your entire life in Chicago to understand why it is wrong to root for both teams. I do agree with you on the second part.

i would love to see rowand in the all star game, but it all comes down to his numbers and votes, he might have the numbers but unless he goes nuts i dont see him getting the votes.

also you got to pick one or the other sox/cubs, its a crosstown rivalry. RIVALRY! and besides when has a person ever routen for both sides in a baseball game, sure you might be cheering for both on the outside but inside you you know you pulling for one team.

I grew up in Chicago. I know exactly what it is all about. In 1969 I was 11 years old, so believe me, I've lived it. It is not "wrong" to root for both teams. Misguided, maybe. Unusual, yes. Nothing "wrong" about it.
