GoArow33 Posted January 28, 2005 Share Posted January 28, 2005 Look: Free agent Barry Larkin said tonight that despite receiving interest from three teams that wanted him as a regular, he likely will opt for retirement. Larkin said one American League team offered him a job as a starting second baseman, and two NL teams were interested in him as a starting shortstop. He told them he couldn't commit because he still sees himself as a Red. ''I thought eventually I'd be able to say, yeah, I can do this,'' Larkin said. ''But I'm big on loyalty. I think he'll hang them up cause the Reds have no interest in bringing him back and he's loyal. Sheeshh Wish a lot of players were like that now.
