Kalapse
Scott Wright updated his mock draft: Changes in the Top 10: 4th - Braylon Edwards to the Bears still 6th - Pac-Man Jones to the Titans, kind of high IMO 7th - Derrick Johnson to the Raiders, that's more like it. 9th - Mike Willams to the Redskins, he moved him up back into the top 10. T R U
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) I'd trade next seasons 1st round pick for Derrick Johnson. If that's all it would take, which i highly doubt. exactly... the point is what team is gonna say "Here, have our top 10 1st round pick this year and well take yours next year not gonna happen... a 2nd this year is worth a 1st next year... so it would be have to be a 1st PLUS and I doubt they would do that

No team is stupid enough to do that, unless they really think that that particular player puts them over the top...that never happens in the draft. EDIT: I forgot about New Orleans and Ricky. That move hurt them for a while too anyways.
CWSGuy406
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) Well they could...anything can happen. But they'd have to give up an insane package to get another top 10 pick(possibly another top 5 pick, because I have seen comparisons of Johnson to Ray Lewis, only at OLB, noting that he is that good), and that would be stupid as hell. Scott Wright has Johnson going at 16, and I don't think there is a chance of that happening...not even close, nor do I think he is going to be the second OLB taken(though Merriman is listed as an OLB/DE). Basically, I view both Williams and Johnson as top 10 picks, to whoever. The Bears might get one, but not a chance(if they are smart) at both. If the Bears went with Williams or Johnson, you'd hear no complaining from me. However, taking one of the two above players is contingent on them going out and getting a solid offensive tackle for this team. We need some friggin' cohesion, because the O-Line is like the motor of the offense -- if it's not working, we're in deep s*** for yet another year on offense. Right now, without looking at anything else, I'd close my eyes and pick one of Johnson/Williams, though that might not be the smartest thing to do. AddisonStSox
I know I've been saying this for a very long time, but my mock Bears off-season should be up tonight.
T R U
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) I'd give them next years 1st and 4th along with this years 3rd. but why?? of course it would be nice to have both.. Bears dont even have a 3rd this year.. so that wouldnt work 3 picks for a rookie is steep, especially one thats an OLB and not a HUGE impact player like a QB or LT also, I doubt a top 15 team is gonna move their first.. they are picking that high for a reason and will need that top pick wishful thinking, but I think the Bears will be happy with the WR they take

Usually gets most of the first round right when it comes to mock drafts. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/
