Kalapse
QUOTE(Tadahito Iguchi @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Bruce Levine reports that the press conference for Sosa is delayed because Sammy hasn't passed his physical yet and he is still taking it............I wonder what that means.......... It means 15 minutes from now the Cubs and Orioles will have a press conference introducing Sammy Sosa as a new Oriole and the Cubs saying goodbye to Sammy and hello to Hairston JR. Don't read anything into this. He passed the physical.

CWSGuy406
Watching the Press Conference, Sosa is such a hypocrite. At first, he says he doesn't want to talk about what happens in Chicago -- and he says that it's not about him in Baltimore, it's about the team. Two questions later, his comments include: "I have great protection in this lineup now." as well as, when being asked about how he's in a decline as far as his numbers, he says some thing to the effect that he still put up great numbers last year through an injury. This is f***ing pathetic. When asked about the whole Dusty Baker/Cubs situation, he makes a joke about the whole thing. And the media laughs along with it. I hope they're laughing when he strikes out with the bases loaded and one out. He is going around in circles with these questions, it's an absolute joke. Wasn't Baltimore the place where people threw cork at him? I hope the fans embrace him with more cork...
CWSGuy406
My goodness! When Cory McPherin asks him about the situation on the last day of the year, where he left early, he said that "It was meant to happen, and he believes in the future." witesoxfan
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) My goodness! When Cory McPherin asks him about the situation on the last day of the year, where he left early, he said that "It was meant to happen, and he believes in the future." So does that mean that after that Washington game, Moss could have said it was meant to happen, and gotten away with it?
Kalapse
I hope Sammy Sosa has an MVP callibur season in Baltimore next season. Just so I can hear all the Cubs fans say that they didn't want Sammy to leave. Even though I know he won't be able to do anything in Baltimore even close to MVP calibur. HuskyCaucasian
He was CLEARLY playing to the media. He said "we" more in this press conferance than he did his entire time with the Cubs.
