The realities of small market spending in baseball. Instead of having those guys and Maggs, we have to settle for one or the other. A problem teams like the Yankess and Red Sox wouldn't worry about.

You're right....damn bastards.

If I would have said a year ago that Magglio Ordonez would be more hated than Kenny Williams, everyone would have laughed.

But it looks like its the case.

I am considering coming to that Detroit series just so I can boo the whole game.

We talking about Buerhle, Frank, or Maggs?

Lord Tex... is that cream butter yet...?? :lolhitting

Of course none of them did squat to get us anywhere up to this point. There had to be a casualty in the mix.

Beastly said he "did a lot for us" and I'm stating that we never got anywhere with Ordonez.

We've never gotten anywhere with Buehrle or Frank either, but at least they are class guys who don't take their cheap shots through the media like Jagglio is doing.

He knows damn well that KW didn't bury him, so he should keep his mouth shut.

Look at the quotes in the paper, Maggs has run his mouth while KW has handled this situation with class like a professional.

2 things.. 1. Neither Frank or Mark have had a reason to do something like this yet so I don't know if it's fair to compare.. and 2. Finally Kenny learned to keep the trap closed. Took him long enough.

Buerhle spoke lovingly about the Cardinals and Frank has spoken about being mistreated and the club not showing respect. The Club alllowed an All-Star player to leave with zero to show for it. You would think the guy single handed stopped the team from a World Series. Geez, he got a better deal somewhere else and took it. No one is calling Hermanson a greedy sob for turning down his last offer and becoming a free agent. Give the guy a break.

Thomas has b****ed to the media, but not to the point where he ever said the Sox were burying him. I have been one of his biggest critics for his b****ing over his contract.

Buehrle, if/when he leaves, will do it with dignity and class. Most people figure he will most likely go to St. Louis after 2007. And it probably won't be under the same circumstances that Ordonez left, so it probably wouldn't be fair to compare.

All I will say is that the Sox offered him a more than fair, adequate, set for life deal in the middle of last year, when he was still healthy.

HE was the one who came out saying he wanted to stay.

The deal was on the table.

He flirted with the deal and didn't take it.

Had he never came out and stated his love for the "city of chicago" and that he "wants to stay" he probably wouldn't be getting ripped like he is.

I don't see what's hard to understand about why he's getting buried (one of his favorite words to use towards KW).

He will be remembered by 75-80% of Sox fans as a guy who took the money and ran.

Whoa! Who brought Thomas into this? You're cracked out of your skull.

For what Thomas has produced over his many years with the Sox & for what he's been compensated during that time he's been one of the best bargains in baseball.

You can't compare Maggs to Thomas in that respect at all. Thomas never trashed the Sox. He's always been to smart for that. He trashed KW. He has always spoken very highly of the Sox & JR. When you consider that KW wanted to trade him every yr he's been GM you can't blame Thomas for thinking the way he does about him.

In comparison I never heard KW talk about trading Maggs or use words that were anything close to disrespectful. It's two entirely different scenarios. Plus the final word between all 3: Maggs, Mark, & Frank

is that Frank re-up'd when he had a chance to make more $, Mark re-up'd

& Maggs said sayonara. That says more about the 3 players & their love & loyalty to the Sox than any newspaper quote.

The bottom line is that if Maggs wanted to remain with the Sox bad enough

he could have found a way to make that happen.

I will not miss Maggs. I really didn't like him much for the 23M/2yr.

I liked him a lot more before that. I will really miss Carlos. It's just starting to sink in. I don't know why it didn't before. But all this talk about being there & in the crowd now reminds me I won't see Carlos there any more. :((

I think I'll be going to more Brewer games than ever before.

Maybe I'll take a trip up there for that final ST series.

yea, maggs needs to shut his mouth when it comes to him saying his number 1 priority is winning-BULLs***!

he was the one that always used to say that he was just trying to do his job and he even said things like thats what i get paid for, to help the team win. its not about passion with maggs. baseball is all just a business to him. theres nothing wrong with that...he just shouldnt lie about every damn thing. (doesnt it make u sick hearing him say, "we have a great team, with great pitching, and i hope to help bring a championship to this city" maybe he forgot he signed with the tigers? :rolly )

If Maggs had accepted that 5/70 deal odds are Garcia and Contreras aren't here. The money he left on the table is teh money that got us two more starters. I hardly call that zero. Plus we are getting draft picks for him.

Aboz56:

actually i have to disagree. i dont think Mark will leave the sox. everyone loves him, theres NEVER been any problems with him. plus i don think hes the same type of guy as Maggs. if theres a good deal on the table, he'll most likely take it. plus, assuming he pitches the way he has, he will be a sox for a long time. the sox arent that stupid, they wouldnt let him leave. he wont make more than 12 mil a yr. his numbers dont really reflect the type of pitcher he is;he has an era in the 2's on the road and an era of 5 something at the cell, he would be phenominal if he played for the marlins, in the NL dont u think? :)

yea, i just hope he stays, hes a great guy. :headbang sox fans would never forgive the sox brass if they let him leave.

He did have the surgery in Germany but the rehab was done in the US with a physical therapist. Usually only the physicians get the credit but anyone who has had back surgery especially when it has progressed to the point where there is muscular atrophy the rehab is also very important. However your point is well taken. Many of the more famous physician are outside of the US partly due to the freedom they have to do procedures not approved in the US.

Alright come clean, what part of the medical field are you in?
