SleepyWhiteSox
Well, that obviously wasn't going to happen... I was actually more surprised that the Kings didn't get ANYBODY. I thought Brad Miller (We traded him so we could get jalen rose???) would definitely make it, and Webber is putting up great numbers (even better than that other guy coming back from injuries...Grant Hill). I would have put Brad Miller in at the reserve center spot, moved Amare over to a F spot where he belongs, and taken out Ginobili. He's having a solid year, but his numbers are verry unimpressive. He contributes in all categories and is a solid player, but he's just not a star yet...
backman
so your saying you would take out ginobli and put in brad miller? I think Mano is way more deservant then miller, the spurs are one of the best team in the league and Mano is a big part of that. he has great numbers and is fun to watch, brad miller has the numbers but doesnt have the "sparkel sparkel"
qwerty
QUOTE(backman @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 06:31 AM) so your saying you would take out ginobli and put in brad miller? I think Mano is way more deservant then miller, the spurs are one of the best team in the league and Mano is a big part of that. he has great numbers and is fun to watch, brad miller has the numbers but doesnt have the "sparkel sparkel" Giveme brad miller any day. He is one of the handful of big man with excellent passing skills. He averaged 4.3 last year and 3.8 this year. Manu average 3.8 last year and 3.9 this year. Miller is averaging 4.7 more rebounds per game this year and four more per career ( would be higher if he got a good amount of playeing time in his career). Miller has the edge on blocks, manu with steals. But the 1.2 miller is not bad at all for a center and it's not like manu is blowing him out of the water, he gets 1.7 per game Free throws are so close career wise it doesn't matter and even this year it is a 002. differential. Manu shoots a very good percentage for a shooting guard but as does miller for a center. To me it is a no brainer that miller should be going. Good big man are not dime a dozen like shooting guards are.
hammerhead johnson
See, if it were up to me, I'd put Bruce Bowen in there ahead of Manu Ginobli. Just about any coach will tell you that he's second to Artest if we're talking about just straight up suffocating an opposing team's #1 perimiter scorer (more often than not the #1 scorer, period). backman
exactly all people wanna see in an allstar game is the flashyness of a player, mano is a more exciting player then miller/bowen!
DBAHO
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Since when is defense important in the NBA All Star game? Exactly. But teams would kill to have Bowen as a defensive option come playoff time. Hell that's why the Magic traded for Doug Christie.
hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Since when is defense important in the NBA All Star game? I hear that. I chose my words carefuly, though. I said if it were up to me. Actually, if it were up to me, I'd just eliminate the NBA all star game altogether. They don't even advertise the players. In the commercials, they show Puff Daddy, Jay-Z, Ashton Kutcher, and every other loser that you can think of. It's not even about the NBA, let alone defense. But then again, in 2005, the NBA is the purest of the major sports by far, so I can't really complain. Teams actually get to keep their impact players...can you imagine that?
