Steff
FLINTSTONES ARE 'WAY TOO GAY' Group Seeks Ban on Cartoon, Cereal, Vitamins The ongoing campaign against alleged gay icons in animated cartoons continued today as a newly formed conservative group demanded that television stations stop broadcasting “The Flintstones” at once. Harland Devane, leader of the group Focus on the Flintstones, said at a press conference in Washington, D.C. today that his organization was issuing the demand because, “Quite simply, everything about ‘The Flintstones’ is way too gay.” http://www.borowitzreport.com/ :headshake

FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 09:17 AM) You kidding? It's right there in the song... We'll have a GAY OLD TIIIMMME...! Oh yeah, I almost forgot. What about the Great Gazoo? He would have been center square for sure if Paul Lynd hadn't already had the gig. FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(winodj @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Wasn't Paul Lynde the Great Gazoo anyway? Negative. Harvey Korman was the voice of the Great Gazoo in the original series.
Queen Prawn
QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) Negative. Harvey Korman "Go do that voodoo that you do so well!" That line from Blazing Saddles always makes me laugh.
FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) "Go do that voodoo that you do so well!" That line from Blazing Saddles always makes me laugh. Good line, but it doesn't hold a candle to this Korman quote from History of the World pt. 1: Count de Monet: Your Majesty, you look like the Piss Boy. To which Mel responds: King Louis XVI: And you look like a bucket of s***!

Queen Prawn
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) But nothing tops... "Excuse me while I whip this out..." That's my mom's favorite line. Of course my dad, brother and Brian like the fart scene the best - according to them that was the best dialog in the movie. Sheriff Bart Can't forget: Lammar: You spare the women? Taggart: No, we rape the s*** out of them Lamarr: Qualifications? Outlaw: Rape, murder, arson and rape. Lamarr: You said rape twice. FlaSoxxJim
Dang. Now I have to see Blazing Saddles again. And I finally just read the original "Focus on Flinstones" link. My favorite line from that is how the group wants to look at more than just banning the cartoons: “We are very uncomfortable with Fruity Pebbles” Borowitz is very funny. FlaSoxxJim
QUOTE(Man Of Steel @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) haha holy s*** thats like the funniest thing ive ever seen... man thats great and I also agree with these guys, Flintstones suckass Bite your tongue! Until they decided they needed to jump the shark and added Gazoo, it was a great show. As an animated series in primetime for 5 years it was the Simpsons of it's time. My favorit line form the Borowitz link, on how the groups isn't content to just ban the cartoon: We are very uncomfortable with Fruity Pebbles
