LosMediasBlancas
When I was in 7th grade, a had a hot teacher who was very 'touchy-feely' with me. In the right situation, who knows, she might have given me the cookies. In H.S. this hot woman, probably in her early 30's, who worked in the library got drilled by like 10 students, just in the 4 years I was there. Also, a male drafting teacher, probably in his mid 40's, drilled all the best looking chicks at the school at the time. They'd come by and peak their head in the classroom, he'd excuse himself for a few minutes. Everyone knew what was up, I always wondered how they didn't get busted. Iwritecode
Is it illegal for a teacher to have a sexual relationship with a student or are these teachers getting arrested because the students are under 18? If the students were over 18 would it even make the news???

Yeah, ultimately, it comes down to parenting. This would never have happened to me, cuz I would have told my parents in a heartbeat. I'll rasie my kids the same way, I'm only responsible for them. Now, c'mon Steff, where did you get that? I neither wrote it or nor implied it. Predators will look for easier targets. In other words, kids who probably won't tell. Usually, those kids don't have a good enough relationship with their parents and have no one to turn to. Any kid can be a victim of an attempt of some kind, usually the kids who have poor family communication will keep silent about it. Of course there are exceptions, but usually that's what happens. I'm not revealing anything that most social workers or school councelors won't tell you.
Kid Gleason
Seriously, the blame shouldn't be on the parents. The blame lands fully on the people commiting the crime. For the kids involved, all it takes is one moment of weakness, and we all know we have had them in all situations, and you suddenly have a world of problems. I do believe that it is easier to target a male at the age of 13- oh...I don't know...lets say 90, if you are a really attractive blonde around your mid-20's. In the case of the 26 year old teacher that everybody here is in shock about, that 13 year old boy didn't stand a chance, and it doesn't matter who on earth his parents were! The teacher was the last person, along with maybe a priest, family doctor, and your neighborhood cops, that the parents should have thought about protecting their kids from. I just remembered also, that teacher that I was hung up on, when I graduated 8th grade and I was walking down the halls with my parents, she came up to me to congratulate me and to say goodbye. On our way out of the school my Dad looked at my Mom and then looked at me and said "Now I understand those grades you were getting! If I had a teacher who looked like that, I probably would have done just as good!". I felt pretty cool there.
