supernuke Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 The Sox will lose the first game of the season in a blowout causing half of the posters on the site to spend the rest of the night posting in what will eventually become a thirty page thread about how KW is an idiot and should be fired. Jermaine Dye will ground into two double plays in the game and those same posters will be calling for his head. Podsednik will be thrown out in the fourth inning on his first stolen base attempt of the year and people will be longing for the days of Willie Harris. A J will be struck out in each of his four at bats causing people to say he is trying to play bad to help the Twins. Iguchi will commit two errors in the game once again causing people to demand Willie Harris regain his starting spot. Hermanson and Vizcaino will combine to give up 6 runs in the 7th inning causing many posters to post about how they knew those two would suck all along. The Sox will then go on to have their best record since 2000 and all those same posters will say they were always behind this team and loved all of KW's moves. Now for a serious prediction Dustin Hermanson will be the regular closer by June. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If I picked STL or ATL and was right I would not get that much credit when this thread is dug up in 8 months. Picking sd and being right would be enough to get inducted into the soxtalk HOF. now as for the rest of my predictions Ill explain those when Im done drinking my kool aid Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Credepopsup Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 The Sox will finish 89-73. The Sox will be ranked in the top 3 for stolen bases. The Sox will win both series against the Scrubs. The Sox will be ranked in the top 3 for striking out the least. There will be a huge brawl against the Twins, during which AJ will rip off Hunter's head and s*** down his neck. AJ will be banned for the rest of the season, but will be reinstated when Selig sees the funny side. During the World series winning celebrations, Frank Thomas's foot will fall off at the ankle, forcing him into retirement. During the ticker tape parade after winning the world series, Ozzie will come clean and admit that he is the voice behind "Triumph the insult comic dog" and perform "I keed, I keed" to a shocked crowd. Jay Mariotti will be fired. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JUGGERNAUT Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 ESPN -> ESPN, you're a dufus. 19 gms vs MIN, KCR. Not 18! I corrected the schedule based on expected off days. TLAK Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 Juggernaut you get me so confused my head spins. Here is the Sox schedule by month. The 19's this year are actually Detroit and Cleveland. I'm hoping for 92 wins and feel that to make the playoffs they will need to go about 45-29 in the division. This leaves them 47-41 against the rest of baseball. 92 will only hold up if enough come against Minny to hold them down. They have to play good ball all year to win 92. Go 1-8 Vs somebody like Oakland and it's too much to make up. I look forward to a fun season where all the games have meaning. greasywheels121 Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 I don't think I'll make one of these. I hate having the season somewhat "pre-determined" this early in the year. I would hate to already know that our fate is to not make the playoffs, or to lose in the first round, etc. I just want to see the games. Mr. Optimist is back. AngelasDaddy0427 Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 Sox win the World Series... Despite Ozzies best effort to hide Rowand in the 6-7 hole he still carries the team. However they give Frank Thomas the MVP award just because he's a bigger name. Mark Buherle throws a perfect game. Jon Garland wins 16 games with an ERA around 4.25. Mark Buherle finally wins 20 games. Scotty Pods sadly hits .240 with an OBP in the low .300's, yet Ozzie finally benches him and Carl Everett continues his All Star year. Sox have no All Stars though because of being snubbed. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JUGGERNAUT Posted February 12, 2005 Share Posted February 12, 2005 (edited) Myself -> , for not knowing the unbalanced ALC schedule. @ - Away, v - Home There were a few other minor ESPN mistakes w W coast games. I got this from whitesox.com this time. 05 SOX vCLE 3, @MIN 3, @CLE 3, vSEA 3, vMIN 2, @DET 2, @KCR 3, @OAK 3, vDET 3, vKCR 3, @TOR 3, @TAM 3, vBAL 4, vTEX 3, @CUB 3, @ANA 4, @TEX 3, vANA 3, vCLE 3, @COL 3, @SDP 3, vARZ 3, vLOS 3, vKCR 3, vCUB 3, @DET 3, @OAK 3, vTAM 3, vOAK 3 All-Star Break 05 SOX @CLE 4, vDET 3, vBOS 4, @KCR 3, @BAL 4, vTOR 3, vSEA 3, @NYY 3, @BOS 3, vMIN 3, vNYY 3, @MIN 3, @SEA 3, @TEX 3, vDET 4, vKCR 3, vANA 3, @KCR 3, @MIN 3, vCLE 3, vMIN 4, @DET 4, @CLE 3 05 SOX vs ALC: 11-8 v CLE, 10-8 v MIN, 10-8 v DET, 12-6 v KCR : 43W 05 SOX vs ALW: 6-3 v SEA, 6-3 v TEX, 4-6 v ANA, 6-3 v OAK : 22W 05 SOX vs ALE: 4-2 v TAM, 5-3 v BAL, 2-4 v TOR, 2-5 v BOS, 2-4 v NYY : 15W 05 SOX vs NL: 4-2 v CUB, 2-1 v COL, 1-2 v SDP, 2-1 v ARZ, 2-1 v LOS : 11W 05 SOX: 91W Again the key is to get at OAK & DET early. We played 8 gms under 500 against both of them. There's no reason we can't make that 5 gms over 500 this year. That's a major swing. The Chi-town series will probably determine the post season for both teams this year. Edited February 12, 2005 by JUGGERNAUT Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ISF Posted February 14, 2005 Share Posted February 14, 2005 Predictions? 88 wins Orlando Hernandez surpasses 120 IP. Pitches 130 before going on DL Garland has career season. 13 wins and 3.90 ERA Carl Everett puts up huge 1st half numbers, spends most of season platooning with Dye, who is plagued by injuries. Thomas resumes fulll-time DH duties in May, still leads league in Walks. Tadahito Iguchi makes everyone forget Willie Harris. Scott Posednik is demoted to AAA in June, Brian Anderson replaces him in LF. Johan Santana out with torn labrum by AS break as Twinkies fall to 3rd in division. Detroit has league high ERA as Magglio hobbles around in RF desperately trying to avoid 25 days on DL. Cleveland takes 2nd in Central. Carlos Lee outproduces Albert Pujols.
