Mplssoxfan
This is from the Mpls. Startribune -- Sid Hartman's column. Twins outfielder Torii Hunter said he only can imagine his first time at the plate against the White Sox with former Twins catcher A.J. Pierzynski behind the plate. "I would expect A.J. to say, 'Torii watch out for that slider, Torii watch out for that fastball.' The only way to get A. J. taken care of is to take him out at the plate." Bring it! Guest JimH
A good way to get Hunter, other than beating his team of course, would be to drill him right in the ribs. Next time, in the back. Next time, below the waist. Etc. If you yap to the press about wanting to take another player "out", you're fair game.
SoxFan1
It's kinda cool having AJ on the team now b/c it gives us a bit of an attitude. Hunter can kiss my ass if he wants to though, b/c if he goes after AJ, AJ will DEFINITELY get back at him.
AnthraxFan93
Mike Jackson Pussed out the first game back.. Its over and done with IMO.. The Sox had a chance to make a statement.. and instead laid down.

3E8
Torii vs. an unsuspecting 6'0" 220 Jamie Burke or a wary 6'3" 245 AJ Pierzynski?

The Sox had a chance to make a statement.. and instead laid down. Mike Jackson pussed out because him and Torii were buddies. Ozzie should have pulled him as soon as he didn't stick up for his teammate, friend or no friend. He's now gone.

winninguglyin83
best way to shut him up is the way the Yankees always do it -- beat his butt. Jose is gone. We could do without the yappers.
JUGGERNAUT
I'm sure AJ will have something to say about it soon enough. Just as I'm sure more than one such play will occur in 2005. I find it reassuring that Tori has us on his mind considering all the analysts have CLE as the real threat to the Twins
GoodAsGould
i thought it was a good play by Tori and Ozzie would agreed i just wish it wouldnt of happened to a guy like Burke stand up guy. He should of ran into Ben Davis.
Flash Tizzle
Well, atleast noone within this thread has yet to reply: "Twins are three time division champions. Until someone beats them, they have the right to say whatever they want." I hope Guillen has conditioned his players not to issue similar statements in the media. Last few years, Koch and Valentin (especially) have spouted off about Minnesota's "lucky bounces." greasywheels121
QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) LOL Minnesota starts the fireworks this year. I guess you could say that's a good thing. We always were the first ones to say something. It seemed like the thing that worked for the Twins in the past was that they didn't worry about us. If Torii wants them worry about us this year, fine by me.

WilliamTell
I always love brawls, especially with the Twins. I like wathin baseball and I'm in the Twins viewing area but 2 years ago they were in brawls with the Sox, Royals, Tigers, Indians, Devil Rays, and I believe the Brewers. Even though most are/were divison rivals, a lot of the teams don't really like the players.
nitetrain8601
Yea, I love brawls. I would give anything for a brawl between the Twins n Sox. I want us to finally show some fire.

Whitewashed in '05
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Remember our last big brawl? 2000 against the Tigers helped us win the division. f*** Robert Fick. I doubt there will be any brawl but I hope so, this new team needs to come together and believe in each other. If that happens that would be great, no matter by how much their losing they should always believe they can come back like in 2000.
