Angelo to acquire an OT?

"Cardinals offensive tackle L.J. Shelton met with Bills coaches and officials Thursday in Buffalo, a visit that could lead to a trade for running back Travis Henry... The Cardinals have given Shelton's agents permission to seek a trade, and it's believed at least four teams are interested. The other three are Tampa Bay, Chicago and St. Louis."

I don't know a ton about LJ, but from what I can gather, he's 6-6 335 pounds and is in his prime, he's started probably 90+% of his teams games and done a nice job. Arizona hasn't had a good rushing average during his tenure, but that can't be all attributed to just him. A good OL for a good RB is always going to be a good trade in my opinion, RB has more value, but when you have McGahee starting already you might as well make other parts of your team stronger with parts that are sparable. Good deal for both teams if it happens.

Charles Woodson to be moved very soon. I certainly hope it ain't the Cowboys;

Charles Woodson signed a $10.5 million tender as Oakland's franchise player. A trade should follow quickly.

The Raiders are now way over the salary cap and will move Woodson to an unnamed team. ''The actions of agent Carl Poston and Charles Woodson tell us that they must have reached a longterm deal with a team and we expect a trade very soon,'' the Raiders said in a statement. Feb. 26 - 12:48 am et

Woodson = o-ver-ra-ted.

Anyone else think the Vikings are going to replace their cap space from trading Moss to possibly acquire Woodson? I can't really see much of a fit with many other teams in the league.

Steelers cleared a good amount of cap space recently with releasing Jay Reimersma and starting CB Chad Scott. So they could be interested in Woodson, but hopefully not at 10 million.

I'm thinking the Steelers need a WR to replace Burress more than a CB, At least they can draft a good CB in this draft with an early pick.

By JOSEPH WHITE

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - The Washington Redskins finally traded disgruntled receiver Laveranues Coles back to the New York Jets and got the speedy Santana Moss in return, a source within the league said Saturday.

The source, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity, said the deal was contingent on both players passing physicals. Moss had his physical scheduled for Monday at Redskins Park. The source also said Coles got the new deal he wanted, which held up the trade for the last week.

Terms of the deal weren't available.

Coles met with coach Joe Gibbs twice after the season to state his desire to leave the Redskins, following an unsatisfying year in the conservative offense.

He had 90 catches for 950 yards for a career-low 10.6 yards a catch and only one touchdown in the Redskins' 6-10 season. The year before, under pass-oriented coach Steve Spurrier, Coles had 82 receptions for 1,204 yards and six touchdowns.

Coles emerged as a favorite of Chad Pennington in 2002, but left the Jets as a restricted free agent after the season, when the team declined to match the Redskins' seven-year, $35 million offer - including a $13 million bonus. He was critical of the Jets and coach Herman Edwards after he left, though it appears the organization is willing to look past that.

As for Moss, the game-breaking receiver had a breakout year in 2003, with 1,105 yards and 10 touchdowns. But his productivity slipped in 2004, when he had 45 catches for 838 yards and five touchdowns while battling through a sore hamstring. He also was critical of his role in the Jets' conservative offense, wondering why he didn't get the ball more.

One area of concern for the Jets could be a chronic toe injury that has plagued Coles the last two seasons. The Redskins wanted him to have surgery, but Coles was reluctant to undergo any procedure. If he is healthy, Coles provides the Jets with a solid receiver under new coordinator Mike Heimerdinger to go with Justin McCareins.

Per Rotoworld...

Check out the stuff on Fiedler and Plax.

Marco Rivera - G - DAL

Newly acquired guard Marco Rivera underwent back surgery Thursday after injuring himself while running on a treadmill.

That's why you don't give a $9 million signing bonus to a 32-year-old offensive lineman. Rookies don't hurt themselves running on a treadmill. Rivera will be inactive for four-to-six weeks and is expected to recover by training camp. Mar. 10 - 9:39 pm et

Itula Mili - TE - SEA

The Seahawks have reportedly reached an agreement to re-sign TE Itula Mili to a four-year contract.

We'll update once the deal becomes official. Mili should share tight end duties with Jerramy Stevens. He'll likely be a reserve. Mar. 10 - 8:29 pm et

Mike Williams - WR - CLG

Mike Williams ran a 4.58 and 4.59 in the forty at USC's Pro Day Thursday.

The times were the same as they were at a faster track at the combine. But Williams was reportedly very impressive in his other drills and is bigger than ever. There's some thought to him playing tight end. One interesting note about the Pro Day was the presence of San Diego GM A.J. Smith and Bucs coach Jon Gruden. Mar. 10 - 8:21 pm et

Ron Stone - G - OAK

Raiders re-signed G Ron Stone.

He was released a week ago to make cap room for a few of their other signings. Stone signed a three-year, $8.5 million contract a year ago, but terms of the new deal are so far undisclosed. On paper, the Raiders offensive line is a promising unit. Mar. 10 - 8:16 pm et

Plaxico Burress - WR - PIT

NFL Network reports the Eagles will fax a contract proposal to Plaxico Burress tonight.

The other teams involved are very interesting: Cincinnati and Detroit. Burress is visiting Minnesota tomorrow, along with Darren Sharper. They should be considered the favorites. The Vikings have been very successful getting people to sign once they visit team headquarters. Mar. 10 - 8:05 pm et

Jay Fiedler - QB - MIA

NFL Network reports Jay Fiedler will sign with the Jets in the next day.

Fiedler was reportedly insulted by Chicago's offer and knows he'll get more reps in New York all summer anyway. He will be valuable Chad Pennington insurance. Mar. 10 - 7:59 pm et
