Santana, Radke >>>>> Buehrle/Garcia

Twins have the better rotation until Garland/Contreras prove that they can pitch at a better level and that El Duque can actually stay healthy.

I think the Sox have the better lineup and as good of a bullpen.  If Shingo pitches like he did last year, then the Sox pen will be better.

:D . (even though I would have said the same at the time)

Oh hell yeah.  Almost as funny as their media and players acting all hard telling people they were gonna sweep us this series before even the 1st pitch had been thrown.

LOL!!!

Somebody got swept alright.

LMFAO!!!!

That's not even the funny thing. People still thought all those fluke years offensively were gonna happen again, thought the indians pen was gonna blow ( from day one i have said i would take their pen over ours) and that buehrle/garcia

Many people refused to call Buehrle an ace...Some people still probably do...

Up until this year he was not an ace. This year he is pitching like one... no one can say otherwise this year.

You are just saying that because you are pissed in every single preseason poll the Indians are ahead of the Sox.

I don't believe I actually ever was. I was one of the people telling people to stay away from the ledge, and just to ignore anything any writer predicted.

Say all the s*** you want you guys may be competing for the 3rd spot with Detroit.

Yup, got that one right.

I try to be fair but you guys flip out so I will to.

Seriously, WTF did/does he expect? Indians fan on a White Sox message board. What a 'tart.

Your Sox offense SUCKS.

Sox team average: .262

Indians team average: .259

Sox runs scored: 428

Indians runs scored: 412

Sox team OBP: .323

Indians team OBP: .322

Sox team HR: 106

Indians team HR: 104

Tribe have a better SLG% and OPS...but I think I've mentioned the ones that are necessary.

Good thing you were right on that one.

You guys have, watch out, Jose Contreas and Garcia. Oh I am trembling......

Jose Contreras - 5-5, 3.99 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, .222 BAA

Freddy Garcia - 9-3, 3.41 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, .241 BAA

Not bad for a 2 and 4 starter, eh?

April 4, 2005 tells the whole story. INDIANS WIN!

I love correct predictions. 2 f***ing hits?

Well its looking like I was wrong on the Santana/Radke aspect, although how much I don't know. I still think Santana is awesome though. Buehrle has just really stepped it up and Garcia is definately pitching more like he's capable of.

Basically put though, for the most part I think my commetns were pretty accurate. I think I have been relatively dead on in terms of my El Duque assesment and than in regards to one of Contreras/Garland needing to step up for the Sox to really take off (which happened).

I was also one of the people always preaching that the Sox didn't lose near the offense that experts claimed they did (specifically power).

Hell, I'm thinking Soxtalk should write a column for ESPN

At least we know it would be factually sound and acurate :)

QUOTE(YASNY @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 03:05 AM)
As a long term Sox fan, I can certainly understand CubKilla's point of view.  I was not quite 2 years old the last time the Sox were seen in the World Series, so it's been a long hard row to hoe.  That kind of disappointment, year after year, can lead to someone being slighty jaded.

However, being a fan, I always look for and hope for the best every spring.  I hope that one of these years all the pieces will fall into place.  I hope a midseason acquisition will be the final ingredient that makes the team gel, ala Julio Cruz in '83.  Basically, I think I just like drinking the Kool-Aid every spring and won't spit it out until all hope is gone.

Well, I was -2 the last time the Sox were in the World Series. I now take the opposite track. I look for all the reasons they will finish 6th in a 5 team division. I am always pleasantly surprised.

I don't think anyone could have predicted this. Our division record is nothing short of amazing. IIRC we have more loses to the A's than our entire division.
