Yeah, everytime I read something DBAH0 says about the NBA it's purely awful. Sorry dibs, you have no idea what you are talking about.

I think he is closest to Allen Iverson. Anyone who voted Jordan deserves to be shot for stupidity. I'm so sick of these Jordan comparisons. Give me a break!!!

I agree, he isn't and never will be Michael. As far as styles you'd have to compare him to AI simply because he's got a lot of speed and can flat score. AI is superior defensively and is a superior passer as well though.

How can you say no? this guy has unbelievable moves, speed, and ball handling.

He's also just a rookie and improving.  AI has not improved since his rookie year, he's pretty much been  the same player his whole career.

Um, let's see here.

Gordon while fast is not as fast as iverson ever was or is now. Also, gordon doesn't have any where near the stamina that iverson has. Who always leads the league in points per game? Yup, iverson. Gordon and dkiles have both admitted that is a main reason why the bulls cannot afford to start him. Because they need him down the stretch. While gordon is a very good ball handler are you really comparing him to one of the best in nba history?

Iverson is a top fifty player of all time and a first ballot hall of famer. Period.

LMAO, maybe I should just stick to talking about my Magic. I only said Allen was a cancer, because of the situation back in Milwaulkee a few seasons ago, when there was Karl, Glenn Robinson and Sam Cassell, and there was all of the infighting. Plus with the contract extension thing, and him wanting big money, there's been rumors of that.

Gordon isn't really the Iverson type as he doesn't really drive into the paint as much as him, and tends to settle for the jumpers.

So allen is a cancer because he was a teammates with one of the biggest cancers in sports ( big dog), e.t., and wants big money? He is one of the best guards in the nba. He deserves a max contract which he will get. I could see if bobby sura said that that people would be pissed.

Allen's not going to get max money;

No Moving Ray: The media can speculate all they like about Ray Allen, but unless someone blows the Sonics away with an offer, the Seattle think-tank, plans on standing pat at the trade deadline, and a source familiar with the plan on Ray Allen says the team is no hurry to over pay Ray Allen. With the NBA looking at a reduction in the length of a maximum contract in years in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement this summer, there is no point in them trying to nail down a deal in the $100 million range with Ray, when the biggest deal he can get this summer will likely be $60 to $75 million, and the Sonics are willing to take the $25 million risk, and that scenario has been explained to Ray and his agent, that the club wants to keep Ray but the next deal will be under the new agreed terms.

Stamina and speed are good reasons not to compare ben to AI, yet. But it can be fixed with better conditioning. ben tryies to bench press out the gym.

as far as ball handler. ben is among the leagues elite. not one of the best of all time. he will continue to improve as his career goes on. he can get very close to AI's handling skills.

But you did compare his speed to Iverson. Go back and look.

Among the league's elite at handling the ball? Let's not get carried away.

Yeah, but when he drives it's very much like Iverson. He drives, draws attention and throws the ball somewhere in the vicinity of the hoop and somehow it usually goes in.

MJ's icewater in his vains in crunch time.

Vinnies explosive streaks.

AI's ball handling, speed , moves.

and to include Ray allen, very comparable in 3 pt % . and creating his own shot.

Yikes, basically you are saying he's the best player of all time, or the potential to be. AI is a unique player, like qwerty said a first ballot HOF'er, to even have the speed of Iverson is a major, major gift. But to top it off with his handle and scoring ability, its just not fair. Ray Allen is arguably the best shooter in the NBA right now, thats not really fair either.

Ben Gordon is an explosive offensive player, but he turns the ball over too much right now, which can be correctable, and his defense leaves something to be desired. Both can be fixed in time, but I'm not sure he compares to another NBA player right now. Jason Terry is somewhat a comparision, but Gordon is more athletic and less of a PG than Terry. They are both SG's in PG's bodies and excellent outside shooters. Basically he has his own style.

I never complimented his D. thats half the game right there. to be the best of all time, you have to have d. Gordon will never have good d.

Among the league's elite at handling the ball? Let's not get carried away.

He had a sideline interview with tnt on the bench during the rookie game just to interview him about his great ball handling so I dont think I'm getting carried away.

As far as speed goes, ben is quick, but not Iverson quick , yet.

You can say since he is a rookie my comparison is part projection.

I don't think he is all the way there yet as far as speed, but will get there.

So gordon will suddenly get faster? Possibly, but not enough to ever be faster than iverson in iverson's prime.

lol not sure if that was a joke but Rip is 4 inches taller, has a bad outside shot, and isn't much of a run and jump athlete.

Uhh...that was serious, although I'm sure comparing him to Jordan or Iverson would be better...

Ben and Rip are in the same mold. Rip is not a bad shooter. Did you not watch the NBA Finals last year? He's clutch...He can slash too...

Until he's earning consistent minutes, you guys can't possibly compare him to Jordan, Iverson, or even ray allen...

Hamilton can post up gordon cannot. Hamilton cannot shoot from the outside at all. He should just stop trying. Hamilton's defense is way superior than gordon's but gordon is the more explosive scorer. Other than that they are pretty similar.

;)

I guess you didn't read my posts above either, I'm debunking people comparing him to Jordan, Iverson, and Allen also. But Rip is a .300 career 3 point shooter, so yeah I am saying he has a bad outside shot. Not to mention Rip has as much stamina as anyone in the NBA with his contant motion through picks. Ben is a more 1 on 1 type talent compared to Rip using his teammates all the time.

You guys are all off.  The real similarities with a current player (and fellow UConn champ. winner) are so obvious...

He's Rip Hamilton.

I see absolutely no connection between Gordon and Hamilton. Rip is much taller, has damn good passing skills, hardly ever shoots the 3 ball, etc. I see no connection.

Well good luck finding an EXACT match...

I just made the BEST match I could think of off the top of my head...

You do realize no 2 players are exactly alike? ANY attempt at comparing two players can quickly be argued because each player has his own strong points, deficiencies, and quirks...

I honestly haven't seen anyone make a BETTER match than mine, including those who are quick to "debunk" mine...
