hammerhead johnson
Wow, the Seattle GM must really think that Paxson is a dope. The Bulls key to success this season: FG% differential Bulls MVP: Tyson Chandler (in a landslide) This rumor is disturbing, to say the least. beck72
Chandler won't be going anywhere. Curry could be traded after the season, in a Jamal Crawford type trade once he signs a bigger contract for a power forward type, who can score down low and be a solid defender. Chandler could then move to C. His defense is irreplaceable. Eddy's scoring isn't

hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) PF is his only position. Which is a good thing, considering.... PF: Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Jermaine O'Neal, Kenyon Martin, Dirk Nowitzki, Carlos Boozer, Chris Webber, Elton Brand, Zach Randolph, Amare Stoudemire/Shawn Marion, Pau Gasol, Rasheed Wallace, etc. These are the players you want Tyson covering. And besides, as stated, he doesn't have the beef to play the center position.

The Sonics rebounding has been so much better this year and Nick Collison is looking good in his first year. The way our team is built this year I wouldnt want Radman leaving for an inside player. I see that Collison is doing pretty well, but still, Tyson Chandler is not just merely an inside player. He's a defensive legend in the making, and I'm not trying to utilize hyperbole here. When it comes to Tyson, you don't have to exaggerate to make your point. In the big picture, Collison, James, Evans, Fortson, etc will get you to into the second round at best. It's gonna take a little more if you expect to take the Spurs out within the next three to four years. If you take a look at San Antonio's salary situation over the next 4 years, you'll see what I mean. That core will remain intact. San Antonio Payroll Parker is the one guy that they have to get locked down. Otherwise, they're set. You guys need Chandler, but you can't have him. I'm still not sold on Tyson, and you guys are vastly underrating Radman. Questionable hands? Wtf. I have been saying it for a long time now and i believe hammer agrees with me. You give him the same amount of minutes that ben wallace gets per night chandler would put up the same type of numbers if not better. He would be an all around better player. Can shoot free throws at a higher rate along with field goal percentage. Chandler probally has the smallest hands in the league for a guy his size but it doesn't seem to matter at all. I like radmanovic and i believe hammer does too. But i mean come on. He is a 6'10 power foward averaging 4.7 rebounds per game while getting 2.9 minutes per game than chandler. Sure he can shoot the three ball but what else does he do well? Blocks? No. Steals? No. Good defense? Eh. He does pass pretty well for a big man though. When you are 6-10 and your field goal percentage is what a typical point guard shoots ( .425 this year, .419 career) you have problems. Chances are if you give chandler 35 minutes per game he would be either 1st or second in the league in rebounding any given year. Would be first in offensive rebounds. Possibly the most important stat as a defensive player. Also, he would be top five in blocks per game. If he gave us 10 points at a high percentage, 12-14 rebounds, 2.25-3 blocks, 1-1.5 steals, pretty low amount of turn overs it would look like this. Chandler>>> radmanovic and i really do like radmanovic.

You guys don't seem to want to understand that Chandler doesn't get the minutes because of his questionable hands (sometimes it just seems to slip through), lack of offensive presence (you have to admit he has NO offensive moves), and mental mistakes. Although he has a lot more talent, potential, and upside, the fact of the matter is that Antonio Davis and Othella are going to make the better decisions... I hope we're watching the same games. I like what Skiles is doing because he rotates in a way that gives the team the best chance to win. People wanna complain about the minutes the players get, but I think Skiles is doing a great job. Too many of our guys are one-dimensional, so Skiles plays them at the right time. Curry is gonna play early because he sets the tone down low and scores early. He won't be in the game during crunch time because he has no idea what to do. Ben won't get his minutes because he sucks on defense, but his clutch shooting puts him in during crunch time. Tyson will be there to because he has the best chance as getting a timely block...

Have you noticed that he has been nailing that 15 foot shoot alot more. All he has to do is that to become one of the best players in the league. Have i complained about the minutes the players are getting? No. But i actually do believe he needs to have a quicker trigger with hinrich. All i was getting at is if given the minutes chandler will be a force to be reckoned with in this league whether you like to believe so or not. Gordon's defense does not suck either. Like i said else where. His offense just out weighs his defense that much. Same thing has also been said for nowitzki. But has that ever been true? Nope, he was not the best defender but definitely not the worst. His scoring ability more than made up for whatever he did lack defensively. "Chandler will be there becasue he has the best chance at getting a timely block" Yeah, not to mention getting everyone's back on D, grabbing that crucial offensive rebound, altering a bunch of shots, etc. He is clearly the MVP of this team. As I stated before, I could care less about his scoring potential. We already have that area taken care of with Gordon, Hinrich, Deng, Curry, etc. I can live with 8 to 10 points a game off of offensive rebounds, a few free throws here and there, etc. As for Chandler not getting 30+ minutes because of his questionable hands and lack of offensive presence, I'll say it again....that's a load of crap. To say that scoring is taken care of because of those guys goes against your point. That ALLOWS Tyson to concentrate on defense. It would actually be nice if he did have some sort of offense. Take away Tyson and Davis and Othella get some more minutes... An MVP that comes off the bench and doesn't put up the offensive numbers his talent should allow him to...good one... Both detriot and chicago are both in my opinion top five defensively and bottom five offensively. They have bden wallace ala tyson chandler and they get away with having him score under ten points per game. Almost all of his makes are put backs. Wow, those are some damn good offensie moves if you ask me. Put it this way. If jared reiner was in chandler's place you would see the bulls five to ten games below five hundred at the very least. Name five guys in the nba who intimidate the oppsing team more than tyson chandler. Please do.

They're all trying they're bestest to play some D, but Tyson has what it takes to be an NBA first team defender. You don't agree? That's fine. An MVP is a team's most valuable player. In the case of the Pistons, it's Ben Wallace (although you probably think it's Rip or somebody ) In our case, it's Tyson Chandler. Warped sense of what an MVP is? In the commercial sense, sure. Chisoxfn
Good god no and this trade will never happen. The Bulls don't need another big man that can't rebound or play defense. Chandler isn't going anywhere and if he is, I demand Chris Mihm in return because he's scrappy, can board like nobodies business, and is a solid defender with nice offensive touch. I want Chandler in Chicago for a long time, but he's still not worth the max contract or anything near it, imo, so it will be a little difficult. We'll see what the new CBA looks like though and the Bulls can always match.

A game log won't gauge the number of shots that Tyson alters, the number of loose balls that he comes up with, or the number of second-chance shots that he is indirectly involved in producing, but check out his turnovers forced per minute and his rebounds per minute. Also, take a look at what he does on the offensive glass: Chandler's Game Log Those numbers are insane...I mean, we're only talking about 27.3 minutes per game. I think that he's NBA second team all defense right now, at the age of 22. And it's like you said...Skiles puts guys in spots where they can succeed. In Chandler's case, Skiles is very conservative based on his injury history.

Chandler never had any serious health problems before his back injury and at the start of the year chandler said his back feels stronger than it ever has. I know they want to be cautious with him but there is no reason that he cannot steal three to five more minutes combined from harrington ( who i like alot) and davis who i despise, he is so damn over payed). I'm not saying he's not a good leader and a role model cause he's definately that, but it will be nice when he's gone. He will be an expiring contract next year correct? Or is this his final year? Regardless the Bulls could definately have some value in a guy like that, especially in a sign and trade if somehow they really covet is available this offseason.
