My key to the season

My key is to play the big games ... BIG! Every time last year we had a chance to take the division, we choked. Right after the Crede GW homer against the Tigers, we were in first place heading into the dreaded Torii Hunter Twins series. And well, we pissed down our legs in that series.

It seemed every time we could showcase ourselves on National TV, we also choked. On the Sunday night ESPN game against the Mariners is when Billy Koch walked the bases loaded and the winning run in.

Then against the Red Sox on National TV we got swept.

Again in Wrigley, 4th of July, National TV ESPN Sunday night audience, we were swept by the damn Cubs. I was there, painful walking through the streets of Wrigleyville that night in my Sox gear. My wife nearly clocked this frat guy Cub fan who almost grabbed her Sox visor off of her head.

Anyways, I feel when we need to, we need to step up and show we belong in the playoffs with the elite teams. The same thing happened in 2003 when were went up to the Hump dome in September.

Fun Fun Fun. Enjoy baseball, it's a great sport. See a game at every level this summer. Go to a park and see a pickup game. Call your local HS and get a schedule. Call the local American Legion Post and see if they sponsor a team. And of course grab a few buddies and visit the Cell. If the team is winning, great. If they aren't enjoy the game. Being a Sox fan means loving baseball more than pennants.
