I'm surprised they aren't using the United Center, seeing as to how it is the bigger arena. I know in years past they had a hard time, because WCW had a deal with the UC, but there is no WCW anymore. Oh well..

Don't know how long the contract is for, but I'm sure it's an exclusive deal. At the rate the WWE is slipping, by next year WM won't be worth a 5 buck ticket. I'm not so sure on that, they run different buildings in the same town all the time. Don't be crazy, no matter how awful the storylines may be the Mania name itself sells. Whether the WWE is slipping or not, this is WrestleMania we are talking here. I haven't watched a WWE event in years but I'll be the first to say WM has not gotten any smaller. It will easily sell out the 1st day.
The Critic
I didn't say it wouldn't sell out, I just said it'll be a s***ty show, not worth more than 5 bucks. The only match I'd be interested in seeing from this year's lineup so far is Michaels vs. Angle. SmackDown is s*** lately, since they demoted/punished/squashed Paul Heyman, and Raw is only moderately interesting. I watch mostly from habit now, and I frequently turn it off before 9pm. JBL is a GAWD-AWFUL champ, worst I can remember since the way-too-soon Orton title run, and Batista isn't ready for a belt. I'd like to see ANYONE other than Mr. Stephanie McMahon with the strap, but even if they allow Batista to hold the title, his reign will be sabotaged by the Sammy Sosa of wrestling, Tripsy. It's painfully obvious that Vinnie Mac is only hungry and creative when he has serious competition, and that hasn't been the case since he purchased wCw. TNA is a joke, and everyone else runs their shows in high school gymnasiums or in Japan. Edited February 25, 2005 by The Critic
LowerCaseRepublican
There were plenty of stupid gimmicks when Vince was having competition... The Castration of Val Venis "I choppy choppy your pee pee!" Atom Bomb Meat The Gobbledy Gooker I could go on for a while. And you're right about HHH. He's such a ginormous dickweed. And if anybody is interested there is a really good book out now called "The Death of WCW" that goes through why it went from the top of the heap to the infamous ::shudder:: "Viagra on a Pole" match with Shane Douglas and the "Jeff Bagwell's Mom on a Pole" matches on its downward spiral. And could Vince have handled the purchase of WCW/ECW any worsely as an angle? They had the WCW superstars being squashed by WWF midcarders...and I loved that in the Invasion match it boiled down to Kurt Angle vs Stone Cold Steve Austin because truly they were the faces of ECW and WCW

Purdue129
QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 06:08 PM) TNA is a joke, and everyone else runs their shows in high school gymnasiums or in Japan. It's too bad TNA's storyline's and production value suck, because they have a ton of great talent over there. Unfortunetly even AJ Styles vs. Petey Williams gets old after 5 times. Brian
QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) 13 was also I was there and it was awful. Only one good match, Austin vs. Hart. I saw instead of AllState, hold it at United Center or even Miller Park.
Brian
Let's keep this thread to talk about WrestleMania 21, taking place April 3. HBK vs. Angle has been a match I wanted to see for years. Even when HBK was out of wrestling. This could go down as a classic.
orangekrush88
13 was at Allstate and I believe part of 2 was at Allstate, I believe it was the NFL vs WWF battle Royal or something like that. I will probably go, even if I don't get tickets it will be a goldmine to promote TNA at. I can't miss that opportunity. Also a quick note on TNA, this year before Mania 21 on April 2, there are rumors going around that TNA has gottena 3 hour special on FSN, huge news and should be the last step to TNA getting primetime come June. orangekrush88
Mania could have maybe one good match and that is HBK/Angle, I don't see how they can pull anything else out of it. Cena/JBL? Taker/Orton? Terrible, I can't believe they are going to turn back Orton to heel, they ruined his career. Now they are going to try and fix their mistake. Also who wants to bet with me right now that HHH will be in the main event next year at 22?
