CWSGuy406
OK -- For MVP 2005, I'm gonna take some time out and put in some of the real Sox minor leaguers, I'd just like as best input as possible on it. Some of these are just stupid questions, but like I said -- I want it to be as real as possible. Feel free to answer whichever ones you know, and any answers are greatly -- greatly, appreciated: -Francisco Hernandez - is he projecting to be more of a power guy, or more of a gap-hitter? And, how is his arm behind the plate? -Is Casey Rogowski a righty or a lefty, and how is his power potential? -Thomas Brice -- I have absolutely no clue. Righty/Lefty? How's he defensively, and does he play an exclusive OF position, or does he play where he's put? How's his arm? And, how's his plate discipline and hitting? Power hitter, gap hitter? Does he K a lot? Does he draw a lot of walks? -Sean Tracy - First, realistically, is he going to make it as a starter? And, what pitches does he throw, and at what velocity? I know he's got some pretty good stuff, obviously a bit wild, but -- should I make him with less stamina and create him as a reliever, or should I bump his stamina up? -Bobby Jenks -- Other than the 100+ heater, what other pitches should I have for him? He throws a curve, doesn't he? Any other pitches I should include with him? -And, I need to know whether these guys hit righty, lefty, or are switch hitters -- Rogowski, Young, Spidale, Owens(from the Escobar trade), and Brice. I'm pretty sure on about three of those, but I figured to be safe and ask anyways. Again -- any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance. danman31
Ok let's see. Hernandez is supposed to project as a power guy and he is successful throwing out runners from what I hear so his arm should be above average. Rogowski is a lefty. I'd say he has 15-30 HR potential. I would lean towards the lower end, but I don't know for sure. Brice is a lefty as well. He is supposed to be pretty good defensively with a below average arm. I'm not exactly sure where he plays in the OF, I can't remember. He played one of the corner spots if not both most of the time though. I somehow remember him getting some time in CF, but I don't think that's right. He walks a decent amount, nothing spectacular or horrible, rarely K's. He's a gap hitter with improving power, but for now gap hitter. It's Tracey with an e. He is supposed to have a rubber arm and I believe he peaks at 94-95, but not sure on that. I don't know much about his stuff either. He does walk quite a few guys and his stuff isn't spectacular but he pitches inside and really pitches like a pro from what I hear. farmteam
Yeah, I've also read Tracey tops out at 94-95.
Chisoxfn
Tracey pitches around the the 93-95 range and can get it as high as 97, according to BA. I'd say he's more around the 91--95 range but he can reach back and put a few extra MPH when necessary. Jenks has a mean curveball and I think a change, but my mind is drawing a blank. Change isn't supposed to be all that great. He may have a slider and not a changeup. I'd have to go look at my notes on him. As far as Brice goes, some say he's good defensively but if he's playing left my take is that he's lousy defensively. Not a bad right fielder and his arm is solid. Hell of a contact hitter though. CWSGuy406
Thanks for the help, guys. Owens and Spidale are both lefties, correct?
bogie
Spidale is a righty with a ton of speed and guts.
