Chris Duhon

I haven't seen many Bulls games this year, how has Chris Duhon done? Is he almost as good as Ben Gordon?

No, not even close. A 34% FG% is laughable, but he has shot better the last 10 games (40%). Duhon is a good back-up PG, why he's starting on a NBA team is anybody's guess.

The reason he is starting on an NBA team is becuase he does the small things that the common fan doesn't notice.

He pressures the ball on defense.

Makes smart decisions.

Leads the offense.

Busts his ass.

He isn't near the talent of Gordon but Chris is playing a HUGE role on this Bulls team.

Just to point out:

Duhon averages 10.3 PPG per 48 min

while the opposing PG averages (when Duhon is on the floor)

20.7 PPG per 48 min

Now, that is probably a little skewed since the Bulls play a decent amount of zone, but he's clearly being out produced by opposing PGs.

The rest of his and opponent production if your interested:

Qwerty, the answer is yes. I could care less who starts and who plays 1 second a game, as long as the W's are getting racked up. Duhon is one of those great players you'll never see anything on the scoresheet with him. He leads the team as a PG, hits open shots, passes the ball well, plays great D, and shows he can be a leader on the court. That is why he is starting and one of the reasons the Bulls are winning.

Good point guards to not score points, they allow their team to score a lot of points.

He's definitely earning his playing time with his hustle and smart decisions...both things that I wanna see from Eddy and Tyson...

Once Ben learns how to play D, Duhon will be a solid back-up for Hinrich and his scary shooting %...

You really have something against chandler. He does not hustle or make smart decisions? Hm... wrong.

Are you watching games or reading box scores? Tyson needs to hustle? You are kidding right?

The hustle part was meant for Eddy...

I'm sorry, guys. Sometimes what I'm seeing from Tyson is misguided hustle, but I do give him credit for playing hard. He just looks so awkward when he gets the ball...

I'm a Bulls fan and I like both of those guys, but to me, they're still huge disappointments. You don't trade a former number one to for a 2nd pick that can't score. He just looks so awkward, as I stated above, when he gets the ball within the offense...Learning ONE post move isn't too much to ask for. It's a necessity if you want to start in the NBA. Don't give me the Rodman argument 'cause there's no Jordan averaging 30 or Pippen averaging 20 on this team...And as much as I wasn't a fan of Rodman, he knew the game well and did a lot more of the little things that you guys want to say Tyson does, and he did it better.

And YES, he does make simple mental mistakes, although Eddy is a lot worse. YES, the ball seems to slip through his hands sometimes. You have to admit his hands aren't great. I'm watching the games and calling it as I see it...

There's still a long way to go, but I'm liking the improvements.

My only fear is...is this the best the 2 of them can do? Have they reached their peak? Will Eddy ever rebound and play defense? Is Tyson going to get any better?...I want them to keep improving...

Let's not forget this is a contract year.

I don't follow enough basketball to say I have any true knowledge of this at all, however, I have seen someone on here...maybe Hammerhead...compare Tyson Chandler to Ben Wallace.

I think anyone would take Ben Wallace down low defensively.

I have Ben Wallace down as one of the Top 10 Defensive Players since the early 60s. The guy is a legend.

That said, Chandler is a monster in the making (a 2nd Team All-NBA defender right now IMO) who may come close to Ben Wallace status by the time he peaks in 5 or 6 years from now.

Our key to success this season has been FG% differential, or rather, FG% allowed. Chandler is a huge part of that.

Well you know i agree with you about him 100%. But why do you think it will take 5-6 years to reach the level of ben wallace? Give him the minutes wallace does right now and he will do what wallace does, if not very close to him. Offensively he is already clearly superior ( even though it doesn't matter much).

Duhon does a good job and his offense has been steadily improving. The problem is Duhon still is young and obviously has to learn, but he is a good defensive point guard at this point and should only get better, imo.

I don't ever think he'll be a star, but he is a TRUE point guard and as BG develops he'll look really nice coming off the bench spelling both Hinrich and Gordon.

Well, IMO, Dennis Rodman and Ben Wallace are the two best defensive power forwards of all time. When all is said and done, Chandler could be up there with both of them.

I keep having to remind myself that Chandler is only 22. The best is yet to come.

The problem is, is Skiles ever going to start Hinrich and Gordon together? They'll get abused defensively against bigger guards especially come playoff time.
