sox4lifeinPA
seriously...you're missing some good ones here. why did one rapper try to shoot the other rapper? because his hoe thought the game was 50 cents.... how do you know you're doing the right thing by buying a playstation 2? have you been to an arcade lately? there's no way the game is worth 50 cents... the jokes are limitless when your name is "the game" and "50 cent"... shagar69
QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Supposedly, what i have heard was that g-unit does not like that Game did a song with Nas recently.. yea, its that plus the fact that the Game said on air that he would not get involved and back up 50 on his disses. (In his new song, Piggy Bank, 50 disses Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Nas, Shyne and Jadakiss). I dont think its a big deal. Game will do fine on his on, he is really talented and only 22. I mean I understand the Ja Rule thing. That has nothing to do with music, its has to do with some s*** on the streets or somethin. But dissin other rappers is just stupid. And yes, his new CD will be the s***, but prolly not better than the first, it would be almost impossible to beat get rich or die tryin. But nonetheless I would be surprised if it did not sell at least 5 to 10 million copies. and yes, :finger all the haters

I'd love to see LCR call him an "idiot hack" to his face and witness the collosal ass-kicking that would occur immediately after. shagar69
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) Lots of shrugging going on... It's all MTV hype that suburban white kids are spending their allowance on. 50 piggy-backed off of eminem. eminem was hyped up for being white, and has basically been more about the hype than the actual product... I liken them to cubs "fans" who know nothing about baseball but crown the urinal because it's the "cool" and fashionable yuppy north-sider thing to do... Most mainstream rappers suck. eminem and 50 are horrible. You have to go below the mainstream, or maybe a Kanye West-type, to find the better talent... if you think that Eminem sucks, you dont know what talent is. He is by far the most talented rapper right now. Yes some of his songs are just stupid and making fun of other people. BUT, if you listen to certain songs (The Way I Am, Till I Collapse, Mockingbird) you will see not only is his flow amazing, he can write too. Those things honestly touch me. I can honestly feel what he is feeling when he talks about things like his childhood and his mom neglecting him and also how hard it was for him to get into the business since he is white. and in terms of 50, no argument from me, if youre looking for a rapper who has meaningful lyrics, go somewhere else. But if you like nice beats, and just somethin you can chill to or party too, 50 is the man.
santo=dorf
Just curious for those who are bashing the lyrics in rap songs; when you go to a bar or a night club, do you actually pay attention to the lyrics when a song is playing? Personally, I don't give a f***. If it sounds good, I'll listen to it. Edited March 2, 2005 by santo=dorf

flippedoutpunk
I like how most people think that just because we listen to rap we are most likely wanksta, they dont ever think it possible that like in my case, a person could be raised in a terrible neighborhood like 26th street, where most the kids you grow up with are in gangs or (sadly) striving to be in one and listen to this kind of music and know nothing about anything else. i never had anyone to tell me, "Hey! Check out this band metallica, their guitarist is really talented and this music is great for when you just wanna go crazy!" All i knew growing up was rap, but i keep an open mind towards other music because i feel like i missed out on a lot of other great stuff growing up. Texsox
Some styles of music require more attention to lyrics than others. Using an extreme example, most Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, etc. tunes needed strong attention to lyrics. Other styles need more attention to dance-ability, beat, etc. Just saying . . . SoxFan1
You grew up on 26th f.o.p.??? Props...I've been around there. I beleive it's mostly Mexican there now. That is a f***ed up ass place. BTW, it's kinda ironic that I am listening to 50 Cent's new CD right now.
Texsox
BTW, the new Mars Volta CD is excellent. Cheaper at Target than on iTunes.
LowerCaseRepublican
The only reason 50 is beefing with so many people on his new album is to sell more records & play out his image. Instead of letting his "lyrical talent" and beats sell records, he's resorting to the ever so sure to be hype on MTv to sell and promote his records for him. "OMG! Fiddy made funz of some guyz!!11!!1!" He's portraying an image. At least the Game isn't as much of an idiot to not take part in this infantile insults in the name of selling a few more records BS. /golfclap Its high school all over again. Instead of confronting the person you have a problem with, make fun of them behind their back & start rumors. Please, throw that s*** away. And Hurt, if he and his friends punch as well as they shoot each other, then I don't think I'd have too much to worry about.
