Jim Fainter
JM has his first major pitching rotaion decision to make. (If he has already done so, I have not seen it). With three games against Detroit, Bartolo is sked for Sunday the 13th. This gives him 4 days rest. But we have KC facing us April 15-17. A crucial series. Does he pull Bartolo away from the Detroit start and save him for KC, thereby giving him six days rest and pushing Mark back from Tuesday's opener against KC to Wednesday? If he does, then someone else would have to start against Detroit on Sunday. Probably Glover. All caused by Garland's ineffectiveness. Poor JM. This is why he gets the big bucks. SoxFan1
Id pitch Loazia today, Stewart for the 2nd game against Detroit, and Garland for the last game, therefore having Colon, Buehrle, and Loazia against KC! i think it would work out well! upnorthsox
He's already said BC will pitch the final Tigger game.

How is KC a crucial series? Just because they started out hot, doesnt mean they dont suck. That team will be lucky to win 70 games.
southsider2k5
I think if Garland pitched on Sunday he would be a day short of rest. He did end up throwing a fair amount of pitches, so I don't think that is possible.

I think Garland should pitch against Kansas City, he's been very successful in his career against him thus far. CWSOX45
SoxFan1
Didn't he make his Sox MLB debut against KC in 2000?
Wong & Owens
I'd say avoid Garland like the plague. Send him back to AAA, if possible.
SoxFan1
Why? He hasnt pitched bad. We just dont do good behind him!
Wong & Owens
Why? He hasnt pitched bad. We just dont do good behind him! I disagree, the first game was a case of some bad defense, but wasn't looking all that good anyways. He still gets burned by too many tw0-strike baserunners, and it drives me crazy. It's an overreaction to say ship him to AAA, admittedly, but I don't have any faith in him at this point. At this point being the key phrase--I'm not saying give up on him entirely.
