santo=dorf
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) Best acquisition of the offspeed in my book. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Were you thinking of a change-up while you were typing this?
DonkeyKongerko
I can't wait til this guy gets in town. I bet he's great with the fans and hopefully does a ton of interviews.
southsider2k5
That is great. Hopefully AJ can maintain this and avoid whatever happened in SF. Obviously it was an aberration because no one in the Twins organization has ever had a bad word to say about him.
EvilJester99
Now AJ will get into trouble for putting a bounty on him!!
bjm676
Frank even said in the booth how much he was messing with everyone at the plate and how much of a pain in the ass he was to opponents. Way to go AJ!! Way to go Joe, too. Hitting 2 HRs.
EvilJester99
Its funny now on ESPN they have the story about it and they called it a "Bounty" as well...
LosMediasBlancas
He might end up being the personality this team has needed for a while. Pssst, does $100.00 seem kinda cheap?
AngelasDaddy0427
I think we are failing to realize what this truely is. Helping out a teammate thats going to be unemployed soon.
LosMediasBlancas
QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) I think we are failing to realize what this truely is. Helping out a teammate thats going to be unemployed soon. You're probably right, but ya never know. So far we seem to have gone the other way, to no power. If Borch can keep thumping them, you just never know.
EvilJester99
Ozzie said he is going to give Borch a lot of ABs to see if he can get it done. Take it FWIW I guess....
nitetrain8601
Go AJ. I love the guy's attitude. Hope Torrii tries to run into him.
LosMediasBlancas
I'll bet that incident is a dead issue in the mind of both teams.
whitesoxin'
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 8, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) I'll bet that incident is a dead issue in the mind of both teams. Maybe to the Twins, but I don't think the White Sox have forgotten about it. I was at that game and it sucked to watch the downfall of the 2004 Sox based on one cheap shot in person. witesoxfan
I Also...to get off-topic here a bit...but did Borch look a little better yesterday? I obviously couldn't watch the game, but from what I could tell, the swing on his second homer looked decent. Maybe he got lucky...and I will admit that I do not have a scout's eyes...but he didn't look horrible, like he did last year. And I know it is just ST...but still. GoodAsGould
word has it that he has shortened his swing from people that have watched him are saying... i really hope he breaks out this year and finally succeeds because he seems like a standup guy and everything. SoxFan1
Back to the $100 issue, I'm glad he did it. This could be one of those things that pissed you off when he wasn't on your team but when he IS on your team, its badass!
DBAHO
Bumping this thread for Tomko's thoughts on the situation; Giants pitcher Brett Tomko told a San Francisco reporter he wasn't surprised that former Giants catcher A.J. Pierzynski offered a $100 reward to any Sox teammate who homered off Tomko on Monday. Joe Borchard did so, and collected. "Consider the source," Tomko said. "Once an (idiot), always an (idiot)."
