Steaming Willy Harris
I'm in a keeper league which lets you keep 6 players and im really struggling to figure out who the 6th player i will keep will be. Here are the guys im keeping for sure Vlad Guerrero Miguel Tejada Randy Johnson Scott Rolen Carl Crawford then the rest of the guys worth mentioning, really tough decision Paul Konerko Steve Finley Magglio Ordonez Ivan Rodriguez Rich Hardin Josh Beckett AJ Burnett Joe Nathan Guillermo Mota Shingo Takatsu Octavio Dotel Troy Percieval This is a really tough decision, im leaning towards keeping Hardin, but its really really tempting to keep Pauly, same goes with Magglio What do you all think? DBAHO
Go with Harden. If Konerko leaves the Cell, he won't be as valuable, while Maggs just can't hit at Comerica.
knightni
How valuable are closers? Takatsu, Nathan or Percival might be decent as the #7 guy.
Steaming Willy Harris
Closers arent that useful because the league doesnt have k/9 or k/bb stats, only wins saves holds hrs allowed whip ks and era Its looking more and more likely ill keep hardin
BuehrleTheAce
My opinion is either Kong or Harden. You have good pitching locked up with Johnson and good O locked up in Guerrero and Rolen. So I guess it depends on whether you want to add more O or more pitching. Probably keep pitching to balance that O out.
southsider2k5
Rich Harden, no doubt.
supernuke
Harden
knightni
What's with the hard-on for Harden? Heh. Why is he so highly touted?
DBAHO
QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) What's with the hard-on for Harden? Heh. Why is he so highly touted? An AL Scout said in Gammons' latest column he'll have the best in the AL in 2 seasons IIRC. Plus he pitches in Oakland, great pitchers park. Wise Master Buehrle
I'd probably pick Beckett... a proven World Series MVP.
knightni
I'd lean towards Beckett as well. His health does make people nervous, however. If Harden isn't going to be quality for 2 years, why not just wait and draft him in the draft? Then you can keep him as a keeper for next year. supernuke
Beckett's health problems concern me. Back problems are never good and the blister issues are still a concern. Injuries can happen to anyone but Beckett's track record makes him more of a risk.
