Nelson Cruz replaced him in left field. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...ort=MLB&id=7028 Latest News Mar. 12, 2005 - 4:25 pm et Miguel Olivo will be the Mariners' primary catcher this season, manager Mike Hargrove said today. Hargrove believes Olivo can start 110 games. It was already assumed that Olivo would get the majority of the starts over Dan Wilson, but a two-to-one split would be greater than expected. He should be moved up a little on draft lists.
UofIChiSox
Having A.J. sure makes me feel a lot better about the Olivo loss. Olive was a fun guy to watch though, I hope he and Reed are both successful.
WilliamTell
Yeah I'll miss Olivo's smile, I wish him the best.

backman
Man, I miss those guys, but their deparcher brought bigger and better things. But congrats to Olivo I really liked that guy, and I still do. And hopefully Carlos can have a good year bashing the cubs.

Whitewashed in '05
QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) Good luck Olivo! No doubt about it, I was really hit hard by Olivo's departure, I didn't know how much I liked him until he was gone. Even though Maggs was my fav player, even his departure didn't hurt me as much as Olivo's did. None of the bs that happened lightened Maggs departure to me, he gave us some great years in the south side. I was expecting to see Olivo for a long long time in the southside but AJ sure did help out the void. As far as Reed, I never saw him play but I know were missing out on some great play from him. He will be a good one. I remember this much, Olivo hit a homerun in his first and last at bat as a Chicago White Sox! His smile was great, I also wish him the best. SoxAce
Seeing both of them leave was probably the hardest thing I ever had to deal with. I know Kenny almost cried seeing Olivo go. What a great guy. Reed as well (still miss him) Best of luck to the both of them.
southsider2k5
QUOTE(SuperSteve @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 12:55 PM) Freddy and Ben > MO and Reed IMHO still. Not to mention Freddy for 3 years at $9 mil per. He would have gotten at least 4 years for about $50 million with what teams were paying for pitchers this offseason.

He had Yankee written all over him at the trading deadline, but out of nowhere comes Kenny with a big trade acquiring him (Garcia) and Davis.
