Rex Hudler
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 03:12 AM) The greatest.conference.ever. in the ACC only has the possibility of getting 1 team in the Elite Eight. That's what I find funny. Top to bottom it was still a better league than the Big Ten this year. But just as I don't think the ACC was 7-2 (ACC/Big Ten Challenge results) better than the Big Ten, I am not going to crow now that the Big Ten was a better league. In this tournament, the Big Ten has done well with their top three teams. I'll enjoy it just like that.
DBAHO
Utah within 6 in the 2nd half, Bogut needs to get goin from the field, been great on the boards though.
aboz56
Utah one of the worst shooting teams I've seen, especially at the foul line. It's really a wonder to me how they've gotten this far. If Kentucky played worth a s***, they'd be beating them by 25.
Rex Hudler
Am I the only one that thinks Billy Packer's days as a good announcer are long gone? Jim Nance was covering up his mistakes the whole night. I thought he was not so biased toward the ACC as he was just bad in general.
The Bones
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) Am I the only one that thinks Billy Packer's days as a good announcer are long gone? Jim Nance was covering up his mistakes the whole night. I thought he was not so biased toward the ACC as he was just bad in general. I've not been overly impressed by many of the announcers for CBS during the tournament. Particularly Packer, Enberg, and Raftery. These three old white guys have no idea what is going on most of the time and I will not be too disappointed when they retire. The only announcer that I have actually become to like more from hearing him is Jay Bilas. Mainly because he calls it like it is and he knows his s***. I also liked Lavin when he announced during the season and wouldn't mind seeing him announce some tournament games in the future. I would like to say that I am glad the Bill Walton is gone. That guy was a joke.
Gene Honda Civic
I gotta agree with you on Bilas... He has been very good, very impartial so far in this tourny.

The Bones
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 26, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) Don't hate on Raf... "A LITTLE KISS!" I actually didn't really have a problem with him but hearing him say that that ref made the right call on the "obvious" Villanova travel was just ridiculous. He even counted the 1,2,3 steps on the slow motion replay when he only took 2 steps, made contact with a UNC player, and went up with his shot. WHarris1
That was funny as hell. You see the guy, go 1-2 and bam Raf slips a quick 3 in there out of no where. "SEND IT IN BIG FELLA"
SuperSteve
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 10:09 PM) I am actually curious to see Coppenraith again, just because he can't be as bad as he looked against MSU. I agree. I watched him in his conference final, and I was really worried about him. I couldn't believe Paul Davis and Co. took it to him. On a sidenote...that is State's first big win in two seasons. They didn't beat a single ranked team last season, and only beat a lower ranked Wisky team this season. Crazy to think this team hadn't done that...next year is going to be stellar too...Davis (should stay), Neitzel, Ager, Brown, and Delco all back. Nasty, nasty lineup. greasywheels121
Yeah, my favorite college basketball broadcasting duo this year was by far Brent Musburger and Steve Lavin. They were awesome for the Big Ten games, and really just games in the Midwest.
Rex Hudler
I can't stand Musburger. Not exactly sure why, but just don't like him at all. I like Raftery. I think Raftery and Lundquist are a good combination. And can somebody tell me what the hell happened in the UNC-Nova game last night? I turned it off with UNC ahead by 10 with like 2 minutes left. How in the hell did Villanova make it close?
Palehosefan
With alot of help from the ref's Rex. Then they tried to make up for it at the end of the game, poorly done all around. A Nova player got all arm on Marvin Williams inside and no foul, then Felton was grabbed by Nardi and it was Felton's 5th foul somehow, very similar to Redick's grab on Jarret Jack. Then Jackie Manual is a foot away from Foye on a jumpshot and somehow it was a foul. Roy Williams put it nicely after the game saying "it was a very weird refereed game". Butter Parque
Needed time to decompress after the loss. First off, I said I would do it, and I will, I give props to Michigan State for a well earned victory. They played 40 minutes of non-stop, physical basketball. I'll also apologize to Paul Davis, while I still don't believe he is a very good big man, he did do the job last night and carried Michigan State to victory. As for Duke, it was evident that they were completely dead-tired. Everything hit off the front of the rim and nobody was able to get down the court in transition. JJ Redick also wasn't himself last night. Usually he never stops moving without the ball, but he seemed almost motionless. I just don't know how they were tired when they had 4 days in between games. Never the less, we basically were run off the court last night. The hardest part of losing, is watching the seniors play their last game. I feel bad for Daniel Ewing and wish he could play for Duke forever. He had become my favorite player over the last 25 years (including Laettner, Hill, Battier, Hurley, Duhon, Carrawell) for his un-selfishness. He probably had the most offensive ability on the whole team, but sacraficed it when Coach K needed a point guard. Good luck in the NBA Daniel! This might have been a down year for Duke, but for fellow college basketball fans, "Watch Out!", Duke has the # recruiting class in the country coming in next season and nearly everyone returning. The fall of Duke won't last very long. Good luck to Michigan State and everyone else that has survived so far, P.S. except North Carolina!
