IlliniKrush
It's the same argument that says all Cubs fans are morons. No, not all are morons, it's just that there are so many of them that there will inevitably be morons. We all know there are good and bad fans of every team. Hell, even Illini fans on this board, some are good and some are bad. You didn't prove anything by pulling random quotes off a message board. Chisoxfn
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) You have Iowa beating Cinci, UK, and OU? Wait, my bad...I have them losing to OU and beating Kentucky.
Butter Parque
If you guys were reading my post, you would have seen that I said that not all Kentucky fans were dumb, but the ones that I have come in contact with, are in fact frighteningly stupid. Thats not being prejudice. (Thats also how it's spelled) Anyway, sure there are stupid Duke fans, but I'm not one of them. Thats not a fair judgment when I'm on a board filled with Illinois, UNC, and Indiana fans. I'm the only Duke fan who defends his team on here, but I have no problem with that. I just kind of find it funny wwhen Duke wins the ACC tournament (which by the way, most of you said they wouldn't), and then you have a guy come on and just say "F Duke", how intelligent is that? Going back to that championship game, I saw everyone on here saying how bad that JJ Redick call was, I thought it was ticky-tac as well, but I didn't see anyone on here talking about the 2 over-the back "no-calls" on that posession for Georgia Tech which got them offensive rebounds and shot after shot to tie the game. No one wanted to talk about that, I guess no one saw it. The fact is, is that you can't possibly call me an ignorant fan when not one person on this board has ever given a fair assessment of the team that I root for. It's easy to say "F Duke" all the time when you haven't watched a game all year. For a team as hated as Duke is, I expect this kind of stuff, so it really doesn't bother me. I like it when everyone roots for them to lose, and then gets proven wrong. Edited March 16, 2005 by Butter Parque
Butter Parque
got a little tidbit that affects this bracket. Sean Dockery, G, Duke, will be back for Friday's 1st Round match-up aginst Deleware St. He had been out since tearing a ligament in his knee. Should give Duke more depth heading into the tournament. IlliniKrush
Random quiz question...who has the lowest FG percentage, JJ, Luther, Deron, or Dee? Dee 53.8 Lu 49.4 DW 43 JJ 41.6 Yes JJ takes a ton of threes, but no one forces him to take the nba threes with a hand in his face. Just found this to be an interesting stat. I like it when everyone roots for them to lose, and then gets proven wrong. To start off, on your original post you did in fact call all UK fans ignorant. You never used the word all, but the way your sentence was structured it said as much. As for the correct spelling of prejudice, thank you. I knew it was spelled wrong but I was too pissed to bother looking it up. The only way I referred to ignorance on your part was in the fact that you showed your ignorance by grouping all UK fans as stupid. I was not commenting on your basketball knowledge in any way, shape or form. Why don't you visit a UK board and ask if someone wants to discuss basketball on an intelligent level with no flaming or trolling. I'm sure you'll get some stupid ass kids that can't help themselves as that's all some kids know how to do. But, I'm also sure you will find some highly intelligent UK hoops fans. Now, once again, let me reitterate that I have always thought highly of coach K and the Duke program. In fact, Duke and UK have had some classic battles in the NCAAT over the years. The overtime game with the Laettner shot to win is still one of my all time favorite games, even though my team lost. It was GREAT basketball game. It almost ranks up there with the '76 final when Goose Givens laid 41 on your Dookies. If you show UK and it's fans the respect due a program with more wins in NCAA history than any other, I'll show Duke and it's fans the respect that goes with a classy, respectable program and we can bury the hatchet. Butter Parque
I'm not saying all KY fans are dumb, some are fine, and yes some Duke fans are arrogant. From one of my other posts. I feel that I do respect fans of different teams, I by no way disrespect Kentucky either, I just feel Duke would be able to beat them. As for Kentucky fans, it just so happens that the fans that I have talked to, seem pretty ignorant. Obviously all are not like that, but unfortunately I've come across a lot of bad ones. Palehosefan
Well Butter here is something that will make you happy I'm sure. Rumor is that Jon Scheyer a 2006 SG is very close to commiting to Duke. He scored 48 points last night when his team lost to UNC commit Bobby Frasor. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=78&p=8&c=1&nid=1104011 He plays for Bruce Weber's brother, Dave. Palehosefan
I'm hoping so also. I can't imagine turning down Illinois after such a great season with your coach being the brother of Illinois' coach. Its still a LOOONG way till 06 signing periods start.

I did see that statement, but this all started when you made that original blanket remark. The remark of yours that you quoted didn't occur until after I had called you on the first one. Regardless, I made the offer of hatchet burial but you chose to ignore the offer. I'll take that for what it it's worth.

Well, I believe that we have the top recruiting class coming next year, so I don't know how many scholarships Coach K wants to give out, but it would be a hell of a recruiting job y Coach K if he stole the kid away from Illinois. Palehosefan
I just checked the post again and they edited it, yes they play tonight, they were saying Scheyer scored 48 points in the game leading up to this one, Frasor got 24. "Tonight (Tuesday), Bobby Frasor netted 24 points en route to an IHSA super-sectional victory. Brother Rice will face Glenbrook North Friday night at 6:30 P.M. CST in the state quarterfinals. As you may know, Glenbrook North features 2006 SG Jon Scheyer. For the record, Scheyer had a nice night himself... if you consider 48 points to be a nice night! Sorry folks!
