LowerCaseRepublican
Mark Prior will miss his next spring start Tuesday because of inflammation in his elbow. Reason No. 532 why the Cubs should never be trusted for injury info. Of course, they're saying that this developed after his first outing last week, but there was a reason why his first start was scheduled for so late in his first place. According to the Cubs, an MRI showed no ligament damage. The problem is inflammation in the joint and to the ulnar nerve. Prior won't throw until at least Wednesday. His status for the second game of the season has to be in some doubt. Mar. 14 - 2:03 pm et Source: cubs.mlb.com

Controlled Chaos
Attorney here just told me Prior is done for the year. His friend is a ticket broker and just called him and told him he is gonna eat tons of tickets now. He said the guy has some inside information...Who knows....just passing on what I heard...and he said wood is out for at least April. WilliamTell
I do admit that Prior could have a great career if he doesn't get injured. But sadly (or happily) he's injury prone.

Wise Master Buehrle
I feel bad for anyone who drafts Prior as thier ace. Last year should have taught a lesson.

BridgeportHeather
Hahahaha!!! How poetic is this...The Cubs won't be able to do anything without their two "worshiped stars." I wouldn't be surprised if either or both go down during the season as well. The Cubs won't finish any higher than 4th in their division. And they will be forever seeing visions of Austin Kearns in their heads...
The Critic
I just want all those baseball "experts" to tell me again how Prior's PERFECT mechanics guaranteed that he'd never have injury problems, especially to his throwing arm. How his PERFECT weight distribution and leg drive made an arm injury impossible. Please tell me that again, because it was SO interesting and informative last time. GoodAsGould
eh it looks like its just a little inflamation that a lot of pitchers go through in spring training and nothing serious, as of now the cubs are expecting Wood and Prior both to be ready by the time the season starts so i wouldnt look to into it. I heard someone mention that former MLB pitcher Mike Marshall actually came out in an article last year and said Prior's mechanics were actually poor. I think it was in the Daily Herald... anyone remember this? I think it actually predicted elbow problems for him Edited March 15, 2005 by SoxFan562004
southsider2k5
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Besides Nomar and Greg, trying to put all bias aside, I don't understand how there is anyone on that team you can actaully root for, or like the orginzation. Not only are the players all stuck up and think the world is against them, the Club lies to it's fans, scalps its own tickets, and blames everyone else for there problems. And this is exactly why I LMAO everytime I hear a rant about how evil JR and KW are. The Tribune company has screwed fans for decades. There were blocks of years when the team made no effort to improve the team at all, even when they were averaging 35,000 a night. They do everything that they can to increase their bottom line, including suing their own fans, but that's OK. They are the all-American team. f***ing lemmings is what they are. Yet the Sox actually have always blowed profits into payroll, has tried to improve their teams most years and even when they melted down, they didn't make excuses about it. They did what they had to do and told the fans they were doing it. But the Sox are the team with the unfriendly rep. GMAFB.
