I think Kenny was saying that BS about Willie to hype up his trade value.  Iguchi is definately going to be the starter because of his salary.

Iguchi is defintiely going to be the starter because he's a better player, and there's an important point to be made with this.

If the White Sox had the intention to annoint Iguchi the starter solely on salary, there's little reason to keep Harris around. I agree that Harris is being given an opportunity to show if he can keep his head above water not only for this organizations benefit, but others as well. Greg Walker's comments on the broadcast today seemed to confirm that Harris's problems are where many on this board suspect they are ... between the ears.

One thing the White Sox are good at, and they don't get enough credit for this, is wiping the slate clean with players and saying "show us what you've got". Having been a human resources guy for 15 years, I completely understand and value that approach. They could've dumped Harris for zero this offseason ... they didn't. They traded for him, they saw something in him, he performed to a point but did not meet their expectations. They felt they got a better player in Iguchi, but kept Harris around. Harris is being given a chance to show what he can do, and that's a very fair scenario.

I believe this management team makes decisions based on who on their current roster will help them win vs. slotting salaries.

According to Bruce Levine, there are a lot of scouts down there looking at Borchard and Diaz.  I haven't heard him mention Willie at all FWIW.

Don't know what Diaz's situation is now, in terms of the shoulder muscle.

Levine has been saying Cincinnati is looking hard at Borchard. Levine also commented that the Sox are pleased with Borchard this spring due to him relaxing a bit more, plus he's been making consistent hard contact.

Small sample size or not, Borchy is clearly seeing the ball better & is making solid contact. Timo's best value on the team is his RISP #'s. Though Borchy hasn't put up those numbers at the ML level he has put up even better numbers at the ml level.

If Borchy has 20 RBI before ST breaks I'd take him over Timo. Timo has no potential. Borchy has tons.
