I don't really think we'll see him next year, but the year after and he should be pretty good.

I really am glad the Sox are finally going to be able to stop rushing pitchers. Giving them an extra year compared to a year less or so is a much better option, imo. Rauch is getting his time in and I have no worries once he's up for good he will be ready. No reason to let a guy pitch in the majors if he's not ready, unless you have a club where you can work him in and let him take the beating for a few years. Otherwise let him work his issues in the minors, bring him into the pen and then move him into the rotation if you have the luxury of having a solid rotation and bullpen as it is.

Damn I hope we keep our aces around.

I think we all learned a lesson with Joe Crede last year. Plus when you look at the struggles that guys like Kip Wells had from being up here too early... It really seems like we should leave these guys down there until they can't keep them down there anymore. I think it was a good move to bring in more vets into camp to compete for those starting positions versus just giving it to Rauch or Stewart for the #5 spot.

I went to high school with Honel.  He was a pretty badass pitcher in high school I can't wait to see what he's developing into...that and he's a North Side convert now, haha.

I know that knucklecurve of his the scouts just love. Sounds like he is on track for a possible Sept 2k4 call up, but realisitcally we are looking at 2005 or 2006 before we see him in Chicago.

Yeah, but does he have a mid-90's fastball he can pinpoint and a change he can control? Because it takes mastery of least 3 or more pitches to have sustainable success as a 1-2 in the majors...that is if he can stay healthy. After Barcelo, Stumm, Biddle, Malone, Rauch, etc I am keeping my fingers crossed to say the least.
