DonkeyKongerko
Now this is not your normal team rivalry. As I browse over on the Royals, Indians, or Twins message boards I read things about how much they hate all the players on our team. I'm talking they hate every single player on our roster. Royals fans say they like the Twins because at least the Twins have chemistry. Indians fans would rather have the Royals or Twins win the divison over the White Sox. Basically we are the bad guys of the AL Central even though we have only won one division title since 94. I guess I don't really mind because I tell myself everyone is just jealous of our team. I just wonder does our team really have bad clubhouse chemistry compared to these other teams? Or is it just a result of all the mouthing off our team has done in the past couple years? SI1020
We just don't have that non stop publicity making machine that the cute adorable ones on the north side do. Who cares. As long as we win the division let them all talk about the big bad White Sox.

witesoxfan
I'm telling you, Angels in the Outfield and Major League 2 took their tolls on us. There is nothing wrong with the White Sox....trust me. We have good team chemistry, we have good offense, we have good pitching, and we have no egos. People just hate us because of respect. You don't hate the DRays, do you? How about the Tigers? Or the Brewers? You don't hate them because they aren't good. You don't respect them. Now, how about the Yankees? I personally would love it if they started to suck....but then some other team would get good and I'd have to hate them just like I did the Yankees. I hate them because they are good. Don't hate....appreciate. Besides....Royal and Indian fans are dumbasses.....let's cheer for a team who are probably going to lose around 90 games and be proud of it. Reminds me of a team's that is 8 miles north of the Cell. And we'll dish out some major crow when our favorite players are splashing champagne on themselves in their locker room come September or so. RedPinStripes
A lot of it prolly started with how out spoken and how VERY cocky the 2000 Sox were.
baggio202
take it as a compliment..do you hear any of the other 4 teams in the AL central talking about how much they hate the tigers???
cwsox
we aren't warm and cuddly KC has a lovable loser thing going. Minnesota is riding off the team to be contracted being feisty thing. We are a class team - so time to just conduct ourselves as Michigan football team and fans: we expect to win, we act with class, and know everyone hates us because our fans are loyal, and we win. That is something to go for. Acting like class will drive everyone nuts as long as we win - and that won't make us winner of Miss Congeniality, but will be the best position to be in. Jim Fainter
I think some of it started with our owner. Let's face it, he isn't the most lovable person on earth. If Bill Veeck were alive and running the show, it might be a little different. Then there is the constant comparison to the media darlings on the North Side, much of which is media generated. Then, whenever we make it to the post-season, we gag. You could probably write a book on it. In fact, one of you college kids could do a term paper, thesis, or whatever on the subject. I must admit, though, that I did not know other teams disliked us.
whitesox247
The Sox don't get too much love and attention right now...but that won't stop us from winning. :finger
DonkeyKongerko
I'm telling you, Angels in the Outfield and Major League 2 took their tolls on us. Yeah I almost forgot about that. What were we thinking when we allowed the film producers to portray our Good Guys as dirty, unshaven, cud chewing, bad guys. I also wonder if when people write a baseball movie and they need to find an antagonist team, that the White Sox are one of the first to come to mind. I wonder if it started with Dr. Dre et al. wearing Sox hats all the time. Ooooh does this mean its racial?

Although Michigan hasn't done all that much winning lately...at least not what you guys expect to win. And about your fans...it's a bunch of 70 year old guys sitting around in a stadium in which half the seats make the players look like ants. It's not very intimidating. Paul Edinger once said it was the easiest stadium in the Big Ten to kick in, because the fans are just a bunch of old quiet guys
cwsox
you know how valid I take the obersevarions of an Illinois student who has never been to Ann Arbor quoting an MSU grad? Final 4 in hockey again - the longest or one of the longest bowl appearance consecutve years streak of any NCAA football school and basketball fallen on bad times but good time ahead - I am very content with Michigan's accomplihments and I know our fans and I'll be in Ann Arbor again this season. All that needs to be said.

SoxFan1
How can the Sox be the bad guys. You dont see jus parading around talking s*** about KC because they finaly lost a game. DonkeyKongerko
All those KC, Minnesota, Cleveland, and Detroit fans can kiss my ass! I was careful not to say Detroit. I meant everyone in the AL Central besides Detroit fans hate us. Detroit fans have a better team to hate: The Detroit Tigers.
