S720
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Not discounting him, but I think Okafor does more things. Whose more valuable, Gordon, simply because he's playing for a winning team and has had so many huge 4th quarters. Still, I think you have to look at it that Gordon is a scorer, Okafor is many things and plays starter minutes. I think in the end Gordon's lack of minutes is what will keep him from winning the award. I wouldn't complain if he did though cause it will be a tough choice. Part of me says give it to Gordon simply because he's helping a team into the playoffs. On a sidenote, Wizards win. I disagree with you. To me, Ben is ROY and 6th MOY. SleepyWhiteSox
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) yeah i think voters are going to look at that the reason Emeka is putting up better numbers is because he gets more playing time and his team is horrible... As for Howard if the Magic were still in the playoffs and like the 6th plus seed i think he would be given more consideration but of the 2 rookies out of the playoffs Emeka has better numbers. For Gordon he is the scorer. The NBA loves scoring and he scores more than Emeka in less minutes and very similar FG% which helps Ben since he is a SG compared to Emeka being a PF. Also id think his ownage of Emeka's Bobcats today might sway some voters and the fact he has scored double digits in the 4th quarter a lead leading 21 times. Every voter should just take a look at tonight's game to see the real truth.
Chisoxfn
Actually I should take it back. I'd have Dwight Howard ahead of Okafor. I think both have such similar numbers, only difference is Howards team is better. I think the vote will be a three headed race (stating the obvious) and who knows who will pull it out. You could make a case for any of them. But Howard always impresses me when I watch him.
SleepyWhiteSox
Great game tonight. We missed Eddy's inside scoring, but luckily the guard tandem of Pargo and, especially, Gordon stepped up. Gordon is just so impressive (But he's no pietrus, right?)... I like how pargo steps it up but we're going to need Kirk back when we're playing real teams. Milk carton: duhon. I guess our third-best PG found his rightful spot on the bench tonight... My highlight of the game: Ben hits a three to give him 31, and pike does this awesone kung fu punch to celebrate! No need to ask me about knowing roles...

And Duhon played 1 not so good game and now he is our 3rd best PG?... while he isnt a good shooter, ill give you that he is by far the best point. And yeah that Pike Kung Fu thing was awesome lol... maybe the best thing he did this game

Imagine if Howard was actually given the ball more on offense, and scored more from normal plays instead of put backs etc, and if he was actually played in the 4th quarter of games. Long - term, he's easily going to be the best player in this draft and I don't think anyone doubts that.
GoodAsGould
Idonno Shaun Livingston a lot of people picked to be the best player in the draft in the long run but as of now it looks like Howard can be something special. This draft was a really good one though so who knows.
DBAHO
FWIW Pietrus had 21 points tonight off the bench in 27 minutes, hitting 6 of 9 and 8 from 9 from the FT line. I wouldn't mind the Magic trading one of their 1st's in the draft for him, to get a nice SG combo in Pietrus and Stevenson assuming Doug Christie's contract is bought out. He's got to be the most pussy-whipped guy in the world. His wife bosses him around and he won't even look at any other women. That story was sick. Jabroni
Oh and his wife is not that hot. Scares me actually. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never said she was hot. Actually, I was surprised that Doug married her sorry ass. Did you see the interview with them on HBO? I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Doug is a friggin' wuss. He does this nod thing to her when he makes shots. He also puts his head down when the cheerleaders start dancing on the court. :headshake Edited March 31, 2005 by Jabroni
