Don't ask me, I had the Bobcats feed. Holy cripes...for 3 quarters they were drubbing how Okafor should be rookie of the year. Then in the 4th all they could do was tip there cap to Gordon.

Still, Okafor should be rookie of the year because he's played a ton more minutes and has been a big part of the season. Gordon should be 6th man of the year.

Fun fact about tonight's game: Fotop had a bet on Bulls -3...

You'd think that would be a winner up 4, with two free throws to go and 3 seconds left?

Nope, I pushed, but in the end I think I was lucky to just push considering Curry and Hinrich were out as well as Chandler getting ejected in crunch-time. But gosh, when it's in your grasp like that and a meaningless two wrecks that it sucks.

Again, don't gamble kids. It makes pointless finishes to games unbelieveably cruical. ;)

how can you not even consider ben gordon for ROY...he puts up just as good scoring OFF the bench in LESS minutes per game for a WINNING team in the PLAYOFF race although as evidenced by lebron winning last year it wont come down to that fact but just saying you cannot dismiss him so easily

He should win both the RotY and the 6th Man Award. What would our record be without his 4th Quarter heroics?

Not discounting him, but I think Okafor does more things. Whose more valuable, Gordon, simply because he's playing for a winning team and has had so many huge 4th quarters.

Still, I think you have to look at it that Gordon is a scorer, Okafor is many things and plays starter minutes. I think in the end Gordon's lack of minutes is what will keep him from winning the award. I wouldn't complain if he did though cause it will be a tough choice.

Part of me says give it to Gordon simply because he's helping a team into the playoffs.

On a sidenote, Wizards win.

The fact that Gordon is in contention for RotY while coming off the bench and playing less minutes is more impressive than what a starter like Okafor is doing.

Things against that though is that Okafor is the #1 scoring option on that team and he's only shooting about 41% IIRC, which isn't too good at all for a PF.

yeah i think voters are going to look at that the reason Emeka is putting up better numbers is because he gets more playing time and his team is horrible...

As for Howard if the Magic were still in the playoffs and like the 6th plus seed i think he would be given more consideration but of the 2 rookies out of the playoffs Emeka has better numbers.

For Gordon he is the scorer. The NBA loves scoring and he scores more than Emeka in less minutes and very similar FG% which helps Ben since he is a SG compared to Emeka being a PF. Also id think his ownage of Emeka's Bobcats today might sway some voters and the fact he has scored double digits in the 4th quarter a lead leading 21 times.
