hammerhead johnson
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 5, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) What times are those, if you don't mind me asking? (Not trying to rile you up or anything.) Deng was a good pick and a solid contributor this season, and I like him over iguo. The knock on him seems to be that he has no upside, but who knows for sure...iguodala has A LOT to prove on the offensive side of the ball. I won't give him much praise until he can average double digits. You know what? Iguodala is a candidate for 1st Team All-NBA defender at SF this season. He's also a good assist man. He recently had a triple double (10/10/10). He might not be much of a scorer for you in the long run because he has an inconsistent shot, but then again, people were saying the same thing about Tayshaun, and he's shot over 50% from the field in 37 games this year, so I dunno. Iggy has the make-up of a guy who can force the issue down low at times & creates high percentage shots like Artest or someone like that. He could also score on the run, off of steals. He's a good ball-handler. He's got a lot of offensive upside once you get past his shooting woes. Why do you think people were comparing him to Pippen? And as far as Paxson goes, the positives outweigh the negatives. I'll just leave it at that.
qwerty
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Why do you think people were comparing him to Pippen? Because he has no scoring ability and cannot defend a lick?
SleepyWhiteSox
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:09 PM) Because he has no scoring ability and cannot defend a lick? Huh? Pippen was an amazing defender and good scorer.

greasywheels121
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) No way. This one I can't agree with. This coming from Pippen's profile... Member of the NBA All-Defensive Team from 1991-2000 (First Team member seven times) I don't understand how you do that, when you "can't defend a lick." Quite possibly one of the dumbest things I've ever read about basketball. SCOTTIE PIPPEN "can't defend a lick." If he's not joking, I don't know how hammerhead is gonna agree with this one. Without saying he led the big ten in assists three straight years. The first year he led the big ten with pretty sad assist numbers by the way. Wade got picked because of his performance in the Tournament, and the same will happen for deron. Now I'm not saying he'll be as good, or anywhere near, and I'm not saying I even like his game, but augustine and head are even worse. knightni
The loss of Deng will hurt a lot more than people realize. Wthout him, the Bulls will have a lot of matchup problems when they get to the playoffs.
Chisoxfn
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) whateve danman. Tell me he's better than Andre Iguadala When healthy Deng was one of the best rookies out there. Igu gets more pub for his defensive prowess but Deng is as good of a defender, imo. Many may disagree with me on that, but his length and lateral quickness impressed me, plus he's flat smart. Offensively he's further along then Igu as well. I'd say they are similar players but to me the upside lies with Luol. Both will be tremendous defenders, Luol is so smooth as a slasher though. Will Deng have a shot at playing in the postseason? Either way it was a good year for Luol and I look forward to watching him progress.
knightni
So, I guess Reiner is replacing him, then?
T R U
It really doesnt matter right now.. Chicago has good players, but they need a superstar if they are ever going to contend for a title.. they just have a bunch of good players.. they are going to just be a playoff team until they get a superstar and then they would have a better chance at winning another title.. Well since the bet is over due to deng being injured i have to figure out what your sig will be. But what do you think is a fair time to have it up for? Two weeks? A month? It was gonna be something with the illini but since they lost that would be no fun...
