qwerty
http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/bulls.asp?id=30417 A large part of Eddy Curry’s weekend stay at Rush University Medical Center was spent trying to recreate the arrhythmia he experienced before a game at Charlotte last Wednesday. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, it never came back. That’s one reason why the Bulls feel optimistic Curry will be in uniform soon, perhaps by Friday at New York. Curry was discharged from the hospital Monday morning, but a few more tests were scheduled on an outpatient basis. He’s expected to resume basketball activity at the Berto Center today, while the Bulls open a three-game road trip in Miami. “We are confident that he’s going to be fine,” said general manager John Paxson. “What he had in Charlotte is not present right now. “He is undergoing (Monday) what’s called a CT angiogram. It’s a new technology test that measures blood flow. So we hope during the next 24, 48 hours after he’s introduced to activity and exercise, we’ll have all the data. If things go well, he’ll be playing by the end of the week is our hope. Obviously, that can change.” Since the initial incident, Curry spent five nights in a hospital — two in Charlotte, N.C., and three in Chicago. That might seem excessive if nothing is wrong, but Paxson said the team simply wanted to take every precaution. “We couldn’t afford to jump to any conclusions,” Paxson said. “I know people wanted some information, but it didn’t do us any good or Eddy any good to release bits and pieces of something when the only way you can give accurate information is when you have the whole picture. “I think people just assumed we were trying to hide something, but there was nothing being hidden. We were being extremely cautious, and that’s all there is too it. I’m happy right now that everything seems to be on the right course.” Curry is the Bulls’ leading scorer at 16.1 points per game. He’ll be a restricted free agent this summer and should be in line for a large, long-term contract, which places an even greater importance on his health. Coach Scott Skiles is confident that Curry can bounce back from his six-day layoff and said he’d like to have the 6-foot-11 center at practice before his first game. The Bulls have a practice scheduled in Orlando on Thursday, but otherwise they are not likely to hold a team workout until next Tuesday. qwerty
The news on the Bulls' injury front Tuesday was that there wasn't much. Curry's expected exercise session at the Berto Center while wearing a Holter monitor to track his heart's rhythm and electrical activity didn't happen. The team is awaiting clearance from cardiologists at Rush University Medical Center. Curry underwent no new outpatient tests Tuesday, but results of a CT angiogram performed Monday were still being analyzed. Team officials say that playing Friday night against the Knicks is a possibility for Curry. But that obviously depends on how his workouts go once he is cleared to exercise. "Even if Eddy rejoins the team, it doesn't mean he will play immediately," Skiles said. "He might. But you're talking about late in the season, somebody missing a whole week of activity. We shouldn't expect Eddy to come back and go right to the rescue. We have to see how he is." More here.
DBAHO
Big game for you guys against us tomorrow, going back to back in Florida. Magic didn't play badly at all last night in Dallas, but without Hill who has a shin injury, the Bulls should win. And I'm hoping they do, we need as many ping - pong balls as possible.
