Buehrle's foot

I saw this quote from Konerko about Buehrle ....

"He's unbelievable. I know his foot is bothering him," Konerko said.

.... and I'm wondering if that foot injury is something we should be concerned about. Up to this point, I've heard nothing negative about Buehrle's foot. I have to say that this remark caused me to raise my eyebrows.

Well, it doesn't seem to be bothering his pitching....he's dominated spring...and continues into the regular season.

I haven't heard anything negative....but if a teammate sees it than there might be a problem....maybe it's small, or maybe it's big.

Here's a little more of the quote. What I posted earlier was all I had seen to that point.

"He is unbelievable," Konerko said of Buehrle. "He pitched his last spring training start after missing one. I know his foot is bothering him probably, but what can you say? Whatever the game is that day, it seems like he pitches to the game.

"If it was a seven-run game, he gives up runs when he knows he can do it. If it's a 1-0 game like it was, he just bears down. He's good. You can't put your finger on it; he's good."

This spins things in a slightly different direction.

I think PK's comments weren't based on talking w/ Mark. Just supposing the foot is hurting him. If the foot was hurting him, I think the sox would take it easy on him.

Exactly. That first "abridged" quote just said "I know his foot is bothering him." Which leads you believe Mark had at least mentioned it to PK, or it was known throughout the clubhouse. The second "unabridged" quote tells a completely different story.

I don't know if it was bothering him. His last spring start kinda scared me because MB was missing high, which told me he was afraid to push through on his foot, and get good and low to follow through on his pitches and get the ball down. This start, everything was right on, and he was missing just off of the corners, low and high... mixing it up like usual.
