Hankins knocked in both the tying and go-ahead run on a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. Juan Piniella hit an RBI single in the sixth for Birmingham, which scored three unanswered runs en route to its third one-run victory of the season. Enemencio Pacheco (1-0) hurled three scoreless innings of relief, striking out three, to earn the win and Jake Meyer pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his first save of the season. Khalil Greene, who went 3-for-5, hit an RBI double in the first inning and Jake Gautreau added a run-scoring single in the third to give an early 2-0 lead to Mobile, which has dropped four of its last five.
