I just want to know when or where Willie learned how to bunt?

Also, anyone notice Juan Uribe still swings at ANYTHING?

A shortstop that swings at anything ... Where have we seen that before?

Game Notes:

Sox eyeing series sweep of Tribe

Cleveland (0-2) at Chicago (2-0), 1:05 p.m. CT

A pitching gem in Game 1 and a ninth-inning comeback in Game 2 have the White Sox staring at the possibility of a sweep of their home opening series with the Indians.

If the Sox were looking for a bright spot in their hitting in Game 2, then they certainly found it. After only tallying four hits Monday, the Sox combined for nine Wednesday afternoon -- including Tadahito Iguchi's first hit in the Majors.

Thursday's game will feature Cleveland southpaw Cliff Lee, who has had trouble in the past against the Sox hitters. Lee is 2-2 with a 6.47 ERA in six career starts vs. the White Sox.

Jose Contreras will get the start for Chicago and looks to improve upon his 13-9 record from last season. If Contreras can keep up the numbers that he had last year against the Indians (1-0, 1.23 ERA), then the White Sox could start the season 3-0.

Pitching matchup

CLE: LHP Cliff Lee

• 14-8, 5.43 ERA in 2004

• 2-2, 7.09 in 2004 vs. Sox

CWS: RHP Jose Contreras

• 13-9, 5.50 ERA in 2004

• 1-0, 1.23 in 2004 vs. CLE

Player to watch

Paul Konerko. The White Sox first baseman hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning of Game 2 against the Indians, and has been one of the more consistent hitters for the Sox this series. Konerko is 4-for-7 in his first two games with a double and that home run. His .571 batting average leads the team, with the next closest hitter, A.J. Pierzynski, batting .333.

Quotable

"Today was not only a big confidence booster for me, but for our team. The last couple of days, we haven't been swinging the bats well, but we faced some pretty tough pitching. For us to come back like that, hopefully that gives us some momentum going into tomorrow." -- Jermaine Dye, after Wednesday's comeback victory

If Willie got any serious and consistant playing time he WOULD be the MVP...of the Kannapolis Intimidators.
