SoxFan1
Today marks the start of the Battle for 1st place. The starting pitchers are: Mark Buehrle- 2-1, 1.23 ERA Miguel Asencio- 1-0, 3.60 ERA Buehrle is 6-3 lifetime against KC with a 2.91 ERA. Asencio is 1-2 lifetime against the Sox with a 5.96 ERA. The game will be telecast over WCIU in Chicago and Royal Sports Television Network in KC. Weather: Tuesday is expected to be a warm day in Chicago with a high of 82. The nighttime low will be 54. Frank Thomas has reached base in all 11 of his games. Magglio Ordonez has hit in 10 straight games. If the White Sox commit an error, it's bad news. They are 7-0 when playing an error-free game, but 0-5 when they flub one. Jose Valentin is 2-for-3 with a home run against Miguel Asencio, while Paul Konerko is 0-for-3 with a strikeout. Catcher Miguel Olivo is 0-for-9 over his last four games. Mark Buehrle pitched well in the opener in Kansas City but only got a loss to show for it. He will look to reverse that decision at home against the Royals, who finally lost Sunday against Cleveland. Brandon Berger, one of the Royals' outfielders, is 6-for-18 against Buehrle, with four of those six hits being home runs. KC!

southsider2k5
The Sox did hit him pretty decently last time around though. He pitched 5 innings giving up 4 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks with 3k's

CWSOX45
Garland is a little stiff... Garland has owned KC most of his career, last outing against them was a defensive break-down. If we play defense Garland wins that game. CWSOX45
