santo=dorf
This guy might be the biggest bust of the free agent pitchers this past offseason. 7.45 ERA, 1.86 WHIP, .39 GO/AO, .727 SLG% against, and he has given up more homers than strikeouts (5 to 4.) :puke
Chisoxfn
I'd say the Muts signing Kris Benson to the deal they did was just as dumb of a move. Same with the Dodgers giving JD Drew big bucks instead of Adrian Beltre. Piss poor.
DBAHO
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) I'd say the Muts signing Kris Benson to the deal they did was just as dumb of a move. Same with the Dodgers giving JD Drew big bucks instead of Adrian Beltre. Piss poor. At least the Dodgers have an option on Drew after 2 seasons don't they if he's injured. But yes they should have resigned Beltre, and he's really going to produce for Seattle, and will be in his prime when that deal is up. Rowand44
Ya, well basically everyone here called the Milton thing, just a disgusting amount of money to give an overrated pitcher.

jackie hayes
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 04:50 AM) I'd say the Muts signing Kris Benson to the deal they did was just as dumb of a move. Same with the Dodgers giving JD Drew big bucks instead of Adrian Beltre. Piss poor. They're all bad, but I don't think they compare with Milton -- who got more money than Benson to pitch as an extreme flyball pitcher in a hr park. Benson's about average, and he got less, and Drew is a monster talent when he's healthy. I don't see anything good about Milton. But as long as the Reds stay undefeated I'm sure it won't be a problem.
aboz56
Milton was the worst signing of the off-season, no question about it.

Palehosefan
Hey Jason were there ever rumors of Adrian Beltre on steroids? He seems to be the perfect candidate to have taken them, with the muscle he amassed in one offseason and the kind of year he suddenly had in a contract year. I wonder if he's lost any mass this year and if his numbers will reflect it. I also wonder if they Dodgers were worried about that at all and that factored into their not re-signing Adrian. He had an insane stat jump last year, almost .100 points gained in the average and a 25 homer 41 rbi jump, and maybe the most controversial, his slugging percentage went up over 200 points. Boy, thats alot of wondering for one night, I need to take a break.

Boy, thats alot of wondering for one night, I need to take a break. Nope, none. He's always been a pretty good size guy and is still insanely young. The only time he lost any weight was after his emergency appendectamy during like his 2nd year which damn year cost him his life and pretty much made him terrible for a full season (he played but wasn't near 100% strenght). Beltre's long been a stud waiting to happen and he'll do nothing but excel in Seattle, imo.

DBAHO
Beltre had something wrong with his foot that forced him to change his batting stance or something IIRC, and that helped him with his hitting a lot.
