The Critic
QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:14 PM) I'm probably a minority here because I know this is a SOX board, but there is NOTHING, better than playoff hockey. The MLB playoffs doesn't compare for me and the Super Bowl is too commercial. The Stanley Cup Finals is what it's all about, the players playing with broken bones and sewn up gashes, for the chance to skate around infront of 20000 people with a silver cup... I miss NHL hockey I agree, but don't forget the "playoff beards". Guys all look like Grizzly Adams by the time the Finals roll around. The Hawks' Cup run in 92 was so much fun, until they gacked that lead in Game 1 of the Finals and you just knew it was over. Watching them get to the Finals was terrific, though - I shared season tickets that year, and when I didn't go to the Stadium, I went to this cool little sports bar on Irving Park Road ( that hasn't existed for a LONG time now ) that was packed to the gills with other hockey fans ( and a fair amount of bandwagon jumpers ). There is seriously NO better time for me, sports-wise, than the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The game is played better, officiated better, and is much more intense than the regular season. NOTHING better in my opinion.

T R U
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 06:14 PM) Except for being at a White Sox playoff game Yeah I dont know about that either.. It would just feel like another baseball game to me... but man, when I watch the Avalanche on TV when its playoff time.. Its like the greatest thing ever.. At home when they score a goal and the music hits and all the fans are going nuts with the towels.. I get chills.. I really do miss it
Pauly8509CWS
QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) Hockey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything else ever created. I've been feeling a great emptiness since the beginning of October! The Bulls have done their part to minorly help; however, not having the Blackhawks, no matter how bad the suck, to follow has had me feeling depressed. Hopefully a new CBA will be reached very soon so that we can see Bell, Calder, Ruutu, McCarthy, Tbo, and co. playing once again...I don't think I'd be able to withstand another year without the greatest game ever put on the face of the planet. The young core of Blackhawks will make noise in a year or two, when they have been able to gel together enough. I can't wait to hear THE ROAR once again. And now, Seabrook and Fraser with minor league tryouts with the Ads!!!! I'm excited for our young Dmen who aren't garbage like Popper and Karpovtsev. And I LOVE Fraser's scrappiness. He's a 3rd liner but still, ever since he dropped the gloves at a prospects camp tryin to make a name for himself I've been interested in getting this kid up here.
