retro1983hat
4 innings pitched. 6 hits 4 earned runs and that's just so far. We have to start the OVERRATED chant at the Cubs/Sox games this year to yell at both Wood and Prior. I would love nothing more than to hear 40,000 Sox fans chanting OVERRATED at Mr. 20 Strikouts. Jabroni
I was about to post the exact same thing. Wood sucks. He is so wild it's ridiculous. Wood's final numbers for the game: 6.2 IP 112 pitches 9 H 7 R 6 ER 2 BB 6 SO 3 HR His ERA is now at 5.84. CWSGuy406
QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) One game, seven years ago. I have never seen someone live off of one thing for so long. He's the Dexy's Midnight Runners of pro baseball. He's still good, just not great. I'd take him on the Southside, that's for sure. There's always room for a guy with a career 117 ERA+, just not at the ten million he's making (didn't he sign a three year, $32 million contract a year or two back, or am I nuts? Well, you are nuts but that is beside the point. I think you are right on the contract numbers though. Yeah -- well, some things never change, I guess... Why do we always have to pitt Buehrle up against Wood? They're two completely different pitchers. Both are above average pitchers, and I'd take both of them on my team anyways (but not Wood at 10 million -- Wood at eight million, yes). And I'm glad Buehrle is on the Sox, and hope he spends a long, healthy, successful career in a White Sox uniform.
