JoshPR
Anybody hear what he said about taking the All Star game away from Chicago?? What a dolt. I hope the Mayour respondes to this. Bring them on... Koch or Colon sould put one in his ribs or head so he can shut up and play I think they should take the All-Star Game away from them, honestly. You can't be having first-base coaches and umpires getting attacked. That's ridiculous,'' he said after the Twins beat Detroit 6-4.
zach23
I hope the Mayor responds too....by making an example of the idiots that ran on the field. I hope the Sox management responds as well.....by making it harder for more idiots to do this. I don't blame Mintkeiwicz (however you spell that) for saying that at all. Last year a coach got beat up in the park and now there are idiots galore running around on the field and approaching umpires. I bet our own players are starting to get worried about playing at their own home field. The Sox need to fix this fast. In the eyes of the rest of the country we look like violent idiots right now. And hitting players in the head has killed and permanently diasbled people. I can't believe any Sox fan would advocate that. We have got a problem and it may only be the fact that JR is tight with Selig that keeps the All Star game in Chicago this year. If there are any more incidents, I wouldn't even bet on that. Save your wrath for the people who run on the field and attack others, not for the people who are appalled by it.

SI1020
Zach and CW I agree. Fix it and do it fast. Whoever or whatever is doing this stuff the out of town perception is that Sox fans are dumbass drunken trailer park trash and Sox management doesn't care to spend enough on security. At least that is what many are saying in my out of town locale. I do my best to provide a little balance but I'm only one guy.

IlliniKrush
See, i think the security at comiskey is a lot better than the security at wrigley, but it needs to be. Wrigley has a few actual security guys, otherwise they have a few early 20's guys in the bullpen, and old people "preventing" people from running onto the field through the box seats, the easiest way onto the field. I think this problem is more than just security. Like i said earlier, everyone says more security...specifically what? Guys sitting on the outfield warning track, or in every other seat down the lines in the first row? It's easy to get on the field if you want to, i don't see an easy way to prevent this, and just saying "more security" doesn't cut it. Mathew
I take s*** whose opinion I could care more for than Miiereghfsdz, but if you don't this this is being whispered by a lot of others you are mistaken. Why Cub fans are idiots at the Cell beats me, the game against Detroit the Cub fan grabbed that live ball, as he was being escorted out he was chanting Sosa Sosa Sosa, keep idiot Cub fans out of our park! In all seriousness something does need to be done.

SoxFan1
The only thing they can do is put more security IN the stands like the United Center!
CubKilla
I hope the Mayor responds too He did respond. He called the situation, "unfortunate." He further stated that "..... the White Sox, not the City (of Chicago)" were responsible for on-field security. When pressed, he said, "Ask Jerry Reinsdorf...... not me." Bighurt52235
Everywhere's been talking about this. As I type, this is the headline of Sportscenter. I just saw Laz Diaz on PTI, and he said the security was very good last night. This morning in Oregon, the local radio station was talking about it at 6:30 AM. I can't wait until this disappears. Brandon Berger was just on the Dan Patrick radio show, and he said he "got a few good shots in there" I think that's pretty funny. Also, the KC GM says that he'll not allow his players to play if there is not beefed up security. Would this be a forfeit?
Chisoxfn
From what I've heard from some of the people on the scene via radio and such it sounds like their was beefed up security. Heard the ump talking about it and a few other callers and they all mentioned that the security was much higher. The flaw is that usually when a player runs onto the field you let them run and then they go across and then they try and get away and you get them on the other side. I don't think that security is as used to taking off onto the middle of the field to get them.
