In Game Gold Buyer and Seller

not that I advocate this, but I've heard sites like this are good. I might write a book one day called "If I bought powerleveling, this is how I'd do it" :D

Wouldn't it be interesting if the WoW people were behind the reselling? Kind of like the Cubs opening their own ticket broker service. You know, just tossing a log on the fire. They have unlimited gold to sell. It would become inflationary if they opened the coffers. This would react like any other economy.

it can be tedious.... it doesn't have to be, but it often does.

Agreed. I just started playing a couple of months ago at the behest of some friends who have been playing for over a year. Normally I'm a sports, some WWII shooters, SimCity, Civilization, etc etc type gamer. I have played the Warcraft series since battlenet a decade ago (still a classic).

I found WoW to be great at the beginning because of the ridiculous size of the world you can play in. But the usualy complaints I agree with: repetitive, not a lot as much reward for the time spent playing, etc. I'm only up to level 28 and I hear it slows down even more after level 30.

I think the key is to not burn yourself out right away. Play a couple hours every couple of days and you'll be fine. The first couple days I had the game I spent entire Saturday and Sunday mornings/afternoons running around (great to play while bball/football is on in the background). I got burned out pretty quick and ended up not playing for a couple weeks. The key is to get some friends to play with and then it becomes more social. I have a few friends I don't get to talk to as much because they live throughout the states, but we can get together and run through some quests and chat while we do it.

Anyone play Medieval II: Total War? I'm thinking about getting that but have never played any of the Total War games.

It is awesome. I do not play it, but I watch it all the time in my neighbors. He is a level 45. Three of my other friends are 60s. I would play it, but costs alot of money. I don't like alot of stuff like that, but there is so much to it, you can't help but watch it. I give it a thumbs up, and that is from a guy who only plays baseball and grand theft autos.

Good to see ya around old fella. You still living the life at MSU? On a sidenote, for Xbox 2k hockey...for 360 EA NHL....those games = amazingly fun on multiplayer.

I totally agree. I actually stop my subscription for every few months and take a break. I love Civ IV by the way.

I have a 60 priest on Zul'jin and had alot of fun getting there, but now the game feels repetitive.

My new pastime is Xbox Live if anyone wants to play Gears of War.

I'm gonna be bumming that in a week (was playing it next week) so count me in on that. The game is ridiculously fun (I also must admit the coop is badass too).

So let me get this straight, a bunch of computer gamers had a funeral for someone in their make-believe world? I would have attacked it too.

was there actual video...I got so bored with words that were too small to read that I stopped it. I love "Leeroy Jenkins"...

Yeah, they show this retarded funeral procession, then the a-holes running towards it and killing all of the characters, its actually kinda funny.

My friend tells me the funeral for that player died in real life.

I guess they also have weddings on there and people crash them.

Exactly, thats plain weird IMO, and I would totally have killed all of those people.

so if someone on Soxtalk died that you respected you wouldn't spend time on the board talking with friends about the life of that person and do anything to honor your online friend that in all other regards you wouldn't be able to do in person, i.e. at a funeral?

I mean it is a little weird, but I'm just saying... RPGers are odd people to begin with, maybe it's their way to cope.

That being said, I would have killed people too :D

Well, if it were in an online game where the entire point is to go around and f*** s*** up with magical powers and swords and axe's and hammers, that's how I'd honor the person's death. I'd play the game. I wouldn't hold an online funeral.

What were they doing anyway? We're they going to put the player's body in the water? Was somebody logged in as his character and just standing there with it?

I'd have killed all those funeral goers too.

ok, so I borrowed WoW from a friend and i will be trying to play it for the next several days. Anyone play this and have hints?

expect alliance players to be douche nozzles.

but there are more of them, so that helps with quests.

If this is your first time, I'd play like a rogue, hunter, or paladin.

Dont be afraid to spend time leveling, that'll help you get through quests quicker in the long run.

Join Hellscream server and I'll give you some gear to make things easier.

I'd be a dwarf or a human, because elf quests are lame.

pick a mining as one of your professions, because you can sell ore and bars for $$

make sure you log out in an inn, that'll help you get "rested" xp, which means you'll level twice as fast.

otherwise, have fun and don't be afraid to ask for help in game.
