SoxFanForever
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 07:04 PM) Seriously, there's a reason the Braves have let him go and now the Rockies. He isn't anything anymore and he has a big contract. Here's a suggestion: Get Rolen, A-Rod to play SS, Jeter to play 2B, Pujols @ first, Pudge as catcher, then trade Scott Podsednik, Everett and Rowand for Bonds, Vlad and Beltran. For our pitching staff let's trade for Clemens, RJ, Schilling, Pedro and Peavy. Then our bullpen could be Frankie Rodriguez, Eric Gagne, Nathan, Rivera and Foulke. Anyone want to bring back Babe Ruth to be our 6th starter??? That pen will never succeed without a lefty too!! We better get Billy Wagner too....Better resurrect Lefty Grove while we are getting Ruth too
CSF
This is comedy gold at some of these requests. It reminds me of browsing the Cubs official MB, and all the yahoos on there with thread titles like "Dear Mr. Hendry, please acquire such-and-such." sox-r-us
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) Much better? Have you even bothered to look at his stats away from Coor's? :puke This thread is such a joke. Now Vinny has the following stats in 2004 as of now Avg - 0.436 HR - 3 RBI - 11 OBP - 0.488 SLG - 0.846 Yeah he sucks outside Coors. You are a joke I think. If Crede keeps his recent run on for most of the season, no need to get Vinny. But if Crede does what he has always done, this is an upgrade. And at 3M/season, it is not that expensive. I think we oughta get Brian Roberts and Eguardo Alfonzo too because they're going to be batting over .400 all year. Pleaseeeeee. It seems like you are one of those White Sox fans that find anything to complain about. Crede is doing just fine.

How about his 2004 stats where he hit .218 away from the launching pad? But nope, 9 games proves your point.
Punch and Judy Garland
Yeha Vinny didn't hit much away from home last eyar, although he hit mroe homers ont he road than at home. I am not sitting here saying Vinny ios a great choice or that I would even bring him in. If the question is Vinny at 300K vs. Joe Crede at 300K-I'll take Castilla because he's a better player and has been for a long time.

sox-r-us
The stats are after 12 games not 9 Again, if Crede keeps up his recent streak for the majority of the season, then we are fine. But if not, we better at least see what we need to give up for Vinny.

Punch and Judy Garland
Vinny makes so much money that it wouldn't be worth exploring too much anyways. I think he'd hit in this park though
aboz56
We aren't getting Vinny Castilla, I don't even know why you're bringing it up. Hell we'd bring up Fields before acquiring a washed up vet like that.

sox-r-us
I already showed the #s from this year and his #s from last year show he had 21 HRs away from Coors field. At Coors field lite (Cell), he could easily hit 15-20 HRs in the second half of the year. If Crede keeps up his current hitting surge, then I do not think Vinny is any upgrade but going from experience, Crede will soon revert back his 1 RBI per month crap. aboz56
Meh, while he may have an advantage power wise, he's definitely not an upgrade on defense. And this team is not supposed to be built on power anyhow. We've got enough power guys with Everett, Dye, Konerko, Rowand and Frank when he gets back. Since we aren't relying on Crede's offense to carry us, as long as he can hit .260 with 20 hr and 70 RBI, I'll take him and his affordable salary over 37 year old Vinny any day of the week. hammerhead johnson
Don't y'all remember in June last year when sox-r-us emphatically stated that the Reds, Pirates, and Brewers were all better than the Astros? Don't waste your time with this joker. To quote Bruce Lee, one must take what is useful and discard what is useless. In the case of sox-r-us, it's all useless. Just put him on ignore. Lord knows I've had my fair share of piss-poor baseball thoughts. However, when you act like a horse's ass, don't expect people to treat you with respect on here. Read through your comments in this thread to see what I mean. Maybe you couldn't care less, I dunno.
