CWSGuy406
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) One question -- do you think Crede could ever hit .319 AVG / .362 OBP / .589 SLG with 46 HR's and 144 RBI's playing in Coors Field? If you say yes, you are a liar. No... I don't recall implying that Crede would hit .300+ either... But, you can't rewind to six years ago, we're talking about a 37 or 36 year old Vinny Castilla. The last four years his OPS+ has been 94, 61 ( :headshake ), 101, and 104 -- so, he's been about average, or worse. All this, might I add, while making somewhere around $17 million bucks. So, four million (plus change) for a guy who's about league average (at this point in his career, and I don't see how you can refute that), or less than a million for a guy who will give you solid defense, worse-than-league-average offense (though he is entering his prime years). Add in the fact that you'd have to give something to get Castilla, and I'll take Crede...

Crede hit .261 in 2003 and only .239 last season. I guess that's not really big difference though.

Why the f*** do people want to replace a player makign the money he is? He is not one of the main problems at this point. Bullpen is gonna end up being a problem as i have said since the off-season and the core of the damn line-up making all the money can't do s***. Crede should is way down the line. There's more than enough posts to go around for all of them. Cruddy's 1 for 17 in this homestead is as frustrating as Paulsy's and Dead's struggles at the plate. hammerhead johnson
Vinny Castilla in 2005 Home: 58 AB .345 AVG 11 EXTRA-BASE HITS 15 RBI .415 OBP .655 SLG Road: 69 AB .275 AVG 5 EXTRA-BASE HITS 8 RBI .359 OBP .377 SLG Is the jury still out on RFK Stadium, or is it clearly a hitters park? I have some Rotoworld season preview guide that presumed pitching-friendly conditions. Wanting to bring in a new third baseman....there's nothing wrong with that. But come on, try again. Come up with another option. Vinny Castilla was horrible away from Coors last year with some isolated power here and there (big freaking deal). You like Jeromy Burnitz too? I'm not saying we should trade for Castilla but those are the facts. Edited May 17, 2005 by Jabroni
Punch and Judy Garland
From all accounts I read, RFK was supposed to be very pitcher friendly. Their hitters have hti, but their pitching (including Loaiza) has been very good so it might just be that they are a good team that hits and pitches well in that park. However, we are trying to improve from a playoff team to a WS winner....every move/non-move will matter in the playoffs.

AirScott
while we're at it, let's swing a trade for every player off to a hot start. get Konerko out of there, let's get Tino Martinez at first. Johnny Damon's batting .365, how about Rowand for Damon? or Jermaine Dye for Chipper Jones? (green means sarcastic, right?)
