Chicagoislife_2003
I hyped up Garland all off-season long as the next young pitcher to break out this year. We need a good start from him. Atleast 7 innings of no more than 3 runs.
Bighurt52235
I'd take 3 runs in 7 innings, but even if he does pitch that well, Runelvys (I hate this guy) Hernandez may pitch even better.
cwsox
hasn't Garland always had success against KC?
Bighurt52235
I don't have the numbers, but I do remember that he made his debut in KC and he got messed up, pretty big.
baggio202
hasn't Garland always had success against KC? didnt he debut against the royals???...and got lit up like a christmas tree???..other than that i really dont remember what he did against the royals
Molto
he's always struggled against the Royals. the only time he showed somewhat success was the end of last season. for the most part, it is probably the hardest team for him.
Chisoxfn
I'd say Texas is the hardest against him and then KC. Angels whooped him good last year too.
cwsox
The WS MLB site says "The young right-hander [Garland] has found a great deal of success against Kansas City in the past, although he struggled in his first start this season against the Royals on the road. " from MLB WS page on Garland
CubKilla
If his sinker is working, 3 runs in 7 innings may be a max for runs scored. If it's not, it will be 3 runs in the 1st inning.
SoxFanForever
If he actually goes after guys when he has two strikes on him he will be good. If he is just in a daze and tosses one right over the plate with two strikes look for a high scoring game. Hopefully he can get it together and shut them down. I really think that he will bring it together more tonight. Lets win it for the gipper(ME!). To a Sox win.
witesoxfan
If Garland can get out of the first few innings unscathed....I'd watch out. That seems to be when he gets in his rhythm. Against Cleveland, he was hit hard the first few innings....but settled down nicely. If I remember right, he still did take the L because he had no run support....and odds are, he won't have run support.

Molto
check that, he has had success against Royals, but it hasn't been easy. I think those numbers are a bit off and are largely in part to a few really good starts, as opposed to consistent starts.

baggio202
jon stepped up big tonight..lets hope he can build on this there was 2 jon garlands out there tonight...the first one was hanging curves and leaving sinkers up...through 4 innings KC was hammering him but couldnt get the big hit..from about the 5th inning on jon started getting good movememnt on the sinker and his curve was snapping off real tight..from that point the royals didnt stand a chance...i hope he figured it out and will go on a nice little run now
